It will be interesting to know which block has the upgrades. That said, the upgrades are mainly do to strength for boost, so it’s not a deal breaker for an NA road course car.
I think the ‘19 and ‘20 cars will be the same content wise.
Either way I hope you get a car soon and look forward to hearing your results, good luck.

1 year newer means higher future value. Also, Ford is known for making optional content standard or adding content as a model ages. I would rather have the newer block.

Ford will usually add a thing or two between model years. Who knows? :)

I called my same dealer to get on the list for a 2020 Ford GT500 (I am 20th). I think it will be here in late 2020 or maybe in 2021 or 2022? No clue. :)

Well they definitely made an update for ‘19 so other than colors, that’d likely be the upgrades for the ‘19-20 GT350s and could likely be the last model years for the 350/350R.
All TBD.
You obviously love to actually use them for how they’re engineered, and Ford Performance and their drivers say the 500 is significantly faster than the 350R, so would you prefer a faster car with DCT or less performance but true manual?
Just wondering, as it’s a popular debate.
I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

I spoke with Jim Owens for a few minutes at Carlisle a few weeks back about the changes to the 19-20 GT350, he said with the tire, suspension, and wing changes for 19, a 19 is basically equivalent to an 18R, it will keep up with it on the track.

I agree that the 2020 GT350 may be the last model year. It's six years on the car (they made a few hundred in 2015).

I ordered a 2019 GT350 in January (it has had many delays). I also got on the list for a 2020+ GT500 several weeks ago. I will be happy with the Ford Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). It's hard to get a manual transmission to take 760 Hp.

I am concerned that the modern muscle car era may be limited to a few more years. Who knows?

My 2019 Shelby GT350 just arrived, and I picked it up today.

This car is more than great. It's a Masterpiece of performance and Ford engineering. That Voodoo FPC is perfect.

Looks like my cousins, he bought a 17 after riding in my 16. The oil consumption I think is hit or miss, I never use oil between changes.

This car is certainly the fastest car that I have ever owned (including three track-only race cars).

I am not sure if I can say that I know what the new MagneRide@ Damping System does? I have some ramps that I can use to install some jacking rails so I can get it up in the air to take a look at what is going on under there.

I think the price of the car is a bargain. I did a link in another thread here that said the 1995 Cobra R's inflation price was $63K. This MSRP is $61.5K and less with rebates and discounts.

My dealer is a Ford guy with Ford enthusiasts employees. Go figure, but we all agreed that the most valuable Mustang is one of the slowest Mustangs: The 1993 Cobra R. :D

Magnetic, awesome color !

I just ordered a 2020 GT350 today.

Twister orange, black roof, no stripes.

Hope to have it by the end of the year, just in time to put it away for the winter :(

Congrats!
Looking forward to hearing your track experiences with it.
The Magneride is a proven ultra fast responding damper that can be tuned in multiple ways.
You can actually order an aftermarket controller to custom tune.
Not sure but I’d consider adding every R chassis piece and having the Magneride tuned to factory R settings buy the dealer if it’s possible.
I’d personally just use as is as Dave mentioned, the updated ‘19-20 should compete with previous stock R times.
I’m a complete novice but the R on track was more fun than the Viper ACR.

Dave,

That is going to be awesome looking. I would have to go with white stripes if they offered it.
