Well, hopefully when the car is slated to arrive and I jump onto a plane it does fall into the abyss and end up in a railyard somewhere for days on end. At that point I will feel like Capone or when Truman made the call to unleash hell on our offshore enemies.

Tob are you gonna drive the whole way back to NY? That should be a fun trip!

Hell yeah. I've been reminded as to how fragile life is and I suppose this is bucket list fodder now that I think about it. Plus I'll be acutely aware of any faults to report very early on. That is, if I get lucky with production scheduling and delivery.

With any luck, hopefully Nick's rep can get you selected for scheduling very early.

I think I first talked to Nick about a GT500 a couple of years ago. He had just purchased my GT350 sight unseen. He wired the money in a heartbeat and a trailer rolled up to my house in no time. I asked him if he'd take a deposit on the 500 and he declined as nobody knew where this program was going. Fast forward to now and he honored an agreement we did come to for msrp.

I have never met anyone at the dealer level that has been more courteous or prompt. He has answered all my questions without hesitation. I'm used to being treated poorly at the consumer level so this is new to me. And what he did for the other guys by securing allocations from other dealers early on in the program for minimal profit - priceless. He's kicking the shit out of far larger dealers and for a rather small margin

To imply that he is somehow part of the ADM bomb - get the **** out of here indeed. That's insulting and as ignorant as it gets.

Thanks Tob, I appreciate the kind words.

Not to mention I can't wait to discuss life over dinner in a few months.

Scenarios such as these are why when I am in a position to buy new fords, I would like to do my business with @13COBRA.

Class act of a member, and I’ve come to see he stands by agreements and doesn’t pull gotcha schemes.

With a person like Nick (I’ve gathered that’s who @13COBRA is) I get the impression I’d get a straight and honest deal, costs upfront and laid out. No run around. I’d personally feel better paying his dealership and transferring the vehicle to my humbl Rocky Mountain dwellings, or flying down/driving back than giving my business to the locals here. Colorado something to remain nameless.

Perfect way to explain it! I personally never ordered a car like this, always searched online for ones at dealer lots. Nick has also been kind enough to respond very fast with all my questions regarding the process, and lol half of those are ones that would drive myself insane and I myself sell used vehicles. Fall better get here fast!

What numbers did you see?
Options look ok but base looks like a hidden 29-30k cdn.

Alberta should this matter since this is before tax?

$71,395.00 US x 1.34(34%)=$95,669.30
$124,675.00-95,669.30=$29,005.70

Seems the math doesn't line up.
Yea thats weird, I do know you cant just use the exchange rate to see what cad prices should be, should technically be cheaper than the calculated exchange but I really have no actual clue why or how.

Glad I could help lol

Have you contacted a dealer about the order guide and price list?

Yes this is the price and option list I was sent. I have been on the list for two years as a MSRP price and I get this today. The math doesn't line up and I think they are trying to say this is MSRP.

Wait a sec... Is that 124k base price before options...?

Edit, just called the 2 big FP dealers local to me and they said they havent had CAD pricing released yet. One of these dealers is supposedly the biggest svt dealer up north (Brown bros in burnaby) funny enough they both said they have 6 allocations for this year and only 4 with deposits. That was VERY different when the gt350 was released as they had like 20 people in line before they even had allocations

This is where a weak dollar and free health care tend to bite you in the ass. So how did the dealer get six allocations?
Not sure how this got turned into a US vs Canada thing? :) I think there is more to play then just the weak dollar here.

BTW happy ID/CD to all you.

Our BC economy is strong as can be, youd be ****en shocked how many people are rolling in cash. How did they get 6 allocations? Not a ****en clue how true that is.

124k cad base price is out to lunch if thats true, they defintitely wont be selling strong at that price point.

Oh Canada!
Nothing is free, they tax the shit out of us for that healthcare...
Must be lots of 2020s coming to Canada. Dealer here in Winnipeg says they have 6 allocations and 5 are spoken for already.

Your perspective is your reality so see it as you may. In this case the strength of your dollar and how government revenues are generated via taxation, etc, have a direct impact on the price point of a vehicle import. There is plenty more at play, absolutely.
