Such a good looking weapon. I’ll own one, one day.

Pick your poison.

Get one soon !! People are starting to buy them left and right because they will dry up eventually. Each year the prices on them go up and the quality of them coming from cmp is showing. I got lucky with mine from the CMP and I encourage you to join the cmp and get one through them. Most LGS by me charge 3-400$ more per Garand at minimum then cmp.

It’ll be a minute. I found an 1889 Spandau Mauser that needs a restoration, that I’m getting. After that’s done and I get the 2V I’m planning on getting then the hunt for a Garand is on. Although I found “the one” but “the one” is not for sale. There’s 2 Garand models I want regular infantry and the other is the Sniper model.

1889 Spandau Mauser. Next Saturday we’re taking to a friend of a friend’s shop for a quote on the restoration.

My nicest Garand. All correct. So much fun to shoot these "battle implements".

Beautiful! I love mine! It's an H&R shooter, it does have a Springfield trigger assy and rod but the rest including furniture is H&R. After market sights and gas plug. Came with a Boyd's synthetic stock but got rid of that.

Congrats. GSR? I had a Nightmare but could not get it to run right and ditched it. The mags these come with are garbage.
It's the Extreme model Sig 1911 with trijicon night sights.

Were they just mag issues you had, slide failure to lock back? Or was it the failure to feed issue, due to the feed ramp? Those are simple issues to correct, which 1911s are notorious for. Im a huge 1911 guy and love them. This is the first full size Sig 1911 I've bought though, so im excited. I also love Sigs.

FTF and stovepipe issues. Tried with every brand mag but just could not get it to go. I am also huge 1911 guy and have >20 of them so know all the tricks. External extractor on these can be a challenge if it isn't working right. I think mine was probably just a lemon, I have not heard of these being problem children.

Sounds like the extractor needs replaced or retensioned. Nothing like dropping over a grand on a gun and have these issues. My Wiley clapp Colt had these issues.

Was looking for a pic and tripped over this one. That's my dad's Remington 760 game master .270. My mom got it for him for Christmas in the mid 70s just before I was born. I had shot this rifle maybe 5 times in my life. He died two weeks before deer season last year so I told myself it was about time I shot a deer with it.

15 mins in the woods and bang, down on the spot. I saw my dad kill more deer with that rifle than I can count...and only one went more than 20 feet after impact

That's awesome. Without knowing him I can say that is exactly what he wanted. You will be together every time you bring it out.

I usually run good ammo. I think at the time I was stocked up on win white box and rem green box which seems to work in everything else but who knows.

My Kimber 1911 would FTE and jam with remington green box all the time, and would run flawlessly with win white box. It all depends on the gun and the ammo sometimes.

Ya shoulda seen my uncle...my dad's twin watched me shoot that deer and his mean old ass actually smiled as he teared up a bit...so did I

Interesting story about that rifle...that's Leopold vari x-2c that hasn't been adjusted in 40 years...its crystal clear and when I shot some paper before I took her for a walk It shot .67 with 3 rounds at 100yds.

I didn't find it necessary to shoot anymore that day lol

That gun doesn't give a shit what it shoots ,unlike my ruger m77s (.270 and .243)...I put hornady american whitetail through the 760 last year...my dad always shot Remington core lokt...gun has always keyholed lead
