That has been mentioned numerous times and it has been implied that it has yet to happen. Funny thing is that the improved block, cast in brace, deeper threaded holes with longer studs into the block, has been sold by FRPP for some time. Beyond that, a beefier block in the GT350 is great if a power adder is in the future but it doesn't solve any problems that may currently exist. It was, as stated, a cost cutting measure achieved by commonality.

So you have an expensive beast for the track. So unless you do track it what is the point other then saying you have the latest and greatest? Very few places outside of the track you can utilize it. Hell I have about that much power in my 08 and very seldom ever come close to using it to its potential since I do not race it and am not dumb enough to be stupid on the street.
Same goes for pretty much any performance car no? Can get into trouble real fast with a scion frs. Lol. This GT500 will harness the power far better than your 08 does.

Let me just pretend I quoted all the replies to my comment...

I'm simply trying to say that in my opinion, ( and good grief, SVTPERF has never had a shortage of opinions!), they waited too long and it costs too much.

A loaded ZL1 1LE is at 71+...

Now granted, there's no track data to speak of (that I'm aware of) but when you've got a hopped up Mustang that's knocking on 100K, that's just too dang much money.

Will they sell? Sure, some collectors and true enthusiasts but as I mentioned, I waited and now I'm passing. I was budgeting 65K at the max for my next "fun ride" and this aint it

I agree. Wait 2-3 years and buy a low-mileage one that someone ate the depreciation on.

I just don't think doing without a manual is for me. Every Mustang I've ever owned had one.

My requirements list includes at least 600 hp / 600 tq so the GT350 isn't going to be enough.

I sure do hope Ford announces a stick as I'd have no doubts about buying it.

I budgeted for $50k. Any penny over that and I was going to pass. Can't believe Ford let me down.

It looks legit, except they didn't charge for the red color. I imagine someone just created that.

Have they addressed the oil consumption issues and/or the blown engine issues? I'll be most certainly keeping mine stock, but just curious.

There has been mention outside of Ford that the standard calibration(s) were changed (via a close look at the code therein) that was designed to alleviate certain issues as well as an improved ring pack. I have yet to see Ford acknowledge this in any way though.

By acknowledging that, they would be acknowledging that EVERY GT350 produced to date is defective an it would cost them a fortune.

Ah k cool, good to know. Thanks.

Yeah, true. But couldn't they just spin it as a mid-generation enhancement? ETA: Kind of how they made the Track Package standard for 2017?

They dealt with the oil cooler line recall (mine head this). Oil pressure sensors are leaking and need to be redone on a number of cars. They released a statement about noise when cold explaining it is an inherent characteristic on forged piston engines - which it is. Rear CV joints blowing (mine needed seal replacement as did others). They quietly "addressed" sticking OEM shifter assemblies via a running change (and yet cars are still experiencing this). And we have seen quite a few replacement engine assemblies put in place for a few different reasons.

Don't get me wrong, the GT350 is a fantastic car but they haven't been issue-free just as many other vehicles are not. The '19/'20 should be the best of the bunch.
