Bringing back the dead... Could be lash adjusters, could be exhaust leak, could be wore valve guides.
PLEASEEEE TAKE A LOOK . Heads rebuilt by some shitty company in flordia. Engine builder looks over heads and says they look fine, so we swap some cams, springs+retainers in. Shitty company who builds heads probably uses shitty Lash adjusters, valve guides, and roller followers. Noise is only like 1000rpm and lower, goes in and out, doesn't matter if warm or cold. also. you never hear it within the first few seconds of starting the car. Engine rpms are too high, gotta wait for them to drop and that "knocking/rattling" starts.
Let me just copy and paste my engine build that i have pre written. HI, This is my 2001 SVT Cobra I have been working on for about 6 months. Engine about 0.030 Bored over, Crankshaft shaved .030/.030 K1. Technologies H-Beam Rods,,Kings XP Bearings, Ford Racing Timing Kit+ a few timing things upgraded to Billet. D.S.S Racing Pistons, Heads were rebuild(new) by Clearwater Cylinder Head and ihad my engine builder put in Howards Cams,+Springs,+Retainers, 255 LPH Fuel Pump, Ford Racing 47# EV14 injectors*They are compatible plug and play with ev6*, SCTX4 Hand Tuner, Dan at ProDyno got me a good first start tune for all my mods. Exhaust is BBK Long Tube Headers+BBK O/R H-Pipe + Stock Catback/Muffler., CAI. BBK Twin 62mm Throttle Body, 1 Inch Intake Spacer, Exedy Mach 350 Stage 1 Clutch, BBK Adjustable Clutch Cable, Quadrant & Firewall Adjuster, Exedy Lightweight Racing Flywheel, MMR Ford Billet Rear Main Seal Housing cover, ON3P Coolant Cross Over Delete, MMR Light Weight Power Steering Pulley, MMR Head Cooling Mod, SR Lokar Flexible Dipstick---*If You Have Long Tubes, You Will Love This*, Ford OEM Coil Packs,NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs

A stethoscope is your friend.
Its most noticeable point is directly ontop of the intake tbh, Watch this just for a second . And its what I put my hand on and turn when I put a screwdriver up to that it just sounds like a rattling noise. and its also noisy right on top of the valve cover, right beside the injector.

That's pretty loud. It definitely sounds like it's coming from the top end. On my '99 I had a similar sound but not as loud. I got a stethoscope from HF and went poking around. When I touched the oil pan bolts the noise was not as loud as when I touched the cam cover bolts on the passenger side. Turns out it was a lash adjuster. Replaced all on the passenger side since removing the driver's side cam cover is more difficult. It sounds like yours may be on driver's side. The screw driver to the ear trick is not as good as a stethoscope. Good luck identifying root cause and fixing it!

It honestly sounds way louder on camera, but it's definitely noticeable when you are at the front of the engine,

I'm betting the sound is more pronounced when reflected off of walls, such as a drive-through.

Sent from my [mind] using the svtperformance.com mobile app

I would think so also, I have drove it a total of like 30-40 miles and so far nothing bad has happened?(Minor Scoring on cam lobes that were right at the ticking area, hmm, Ill have video on my channel soon) im changing out lifters this weekend.

Did you ever find the issue? I have an 03 mach 1 and it has a very similar ticking that sounds like a lbad lifter on a traditional engine. I replace lifters on 2 cylinders i thought were the culprits but no luck. One nechanics says it may be a piston but i think he is wrong. I would like to hear what you found.

Now I am not 100% what that noise is. However, it was my PCV system creating a huge vacuum in the crankcase, thus creating this noise. BUT I think there might be something deeper going on. Why would a vacuum in the crankcase cause this noise... HM. Either way, I replaced my PCV+ tubes with catch cans and the noise has gone away. I however am facing another problem. I have 160psi on passenger side cylinders and 130 on driver side cylinders. I think my timing is off 1-2 teeth.
