Either way, almost 800 wheel and 700 wheel torque makes for a good time.
Couldn’t agree more man. Also I’d like to see some dyno graphs of some 2.9’s with the same boost because I’m not buying it. The torque curve of the TVS is violent. Even if the whipple may make a slightly higher peak horsepower number. I’d love to see some real apples to apples comparisons. Either way it doesn’t matter to me that much at this power level it’s plenty for the street. If I want more I’ll buy a turbo coyote. A cobra is meant to have a PD blower and mine always will.

That graph yes is a before and after with nothing changed except the blower. Same pulley same everything. So I’m not sure where the 660ish torque numbers are from but my buddy same car as I have just made 750 torque same blower. They’re proving to be quite impressive and for the price point and the removable inlet I’m very pleased with the gen 3

Did the VMP make any more boost with the same pulley? Or did it make the same amount as the KB? If it made the same amount of boost and made more power I'd say that's a win/win. But then even if it made more boost with the same pulley I'd think that shows more efficiency. But not really an apples to apples comparison as boost differences change power output.

Just my opinion on things. I don't have a KB or VMP so I'm just an outsider looking in.

bottom line is both the blowers (2.65 and 2.9 g4) are bad ass blowers. from what ive seen, except for the example posted in this thread, is that the 2.65 hasnt been shining in the 03 cobra platform. im not sure why but it isnt. to be fair there also arent that many people posting about them either. so the pool isnt too large. now the coyote and gt500 motors are loving them so clearly it has potential. the couple examples of the 2.9 g4 on our motors have show the opposite, people love them and they are making great power.
there are a few things that will persuade people to either one: potential power, ease of install, price and of course looks.
my mere opinion is that at the end of the day the whipple has the advantage power wise. i havent driven either one so i cant truly compare them, im just going off what ive seen. and to be honest if the whipple doesnt hit as "hard" down low, that may actually be a good thing. my 2.3 tvs is useless for traction at anything below 50mph roll. so maybe having the tq come on slightly later will help it hook and then deliver all the power on the top end.
carry on

so you made almost 110 more hp by just using e85? (aside from the new blower)
trying to comprehend how the power is so vastly different

I cant speak for his numbers but the difference between a 93 car and e85 cars are vastly different. It's like going from an eaton to a 2.3. My car is completely different from pump to E.
But at almost 25lbs of boost on the 2.65 there is no way he was on pump before

When you say same pulleys, did they produce the same boost? I ask because the same pulley combo on different blowers can produce much different boost pressures.
Ex: my 2.3 TVs with 3.0 upper and 4lb lower makes 21-22lbs depending on weather. According to whipple the g4 2.9 with a 3.65 upper and 4lb lower will make 21lbs. 3.0 upper with 4lb lower should make 26lbs. Big difference, same pulleys size

3 inch upper 4 pound lower on the kB made 22-23 on the vmp 25-26
