Soo today was the day I was supposed to leave early from work, to get a check, to fly across the country, to inspect a car, to purchase a car, to drive that car 1000 miles back home. (I just listed my 03 cobra for sale and was supposed to be picking up a viper, my childhood dream car)

However my 2003 cobra with just under 43k absolutely trouble free daily driven miles for the past two and a half years decided to over heat on the way to the bank to pick that check up. (By chance my financial advisor made a small mistake and my wire hasn't showed up either so I'm hopefully picking up the car next week) But Damnit I want my viper! and I am praying the dealership I am buying the viper from understands and doesn't sell the car out from under me. Luckily they have been great so far and have given no indication otherwise. I'm trying to stay positive and keep telling my self that I'm glad the Ol' girl is trying to put up a fight!

Sorry end rant what a long a frustrating day

Put a deposit down on the viper so they'll hold it.

If you haven't yet put a deposit down on the Viper, you need to do so ASAP. Without a deposit on a specific vehicle, you're definitely risking that the dealer will sell the car to someone else. You did say the dealer has been good up to this point, but trust me, stuff happens in a dealership. I know from experience.

It's in process, they said it wasnt necessary earlier even after the issues today but I've been adamant about it now.

I went to buy a 2007 GT500 a couple years ago out of state and asked the dealer if I can put a deposit down, they said it wasn't necessary. I drove 9 hours to fine out they sold it. But, do as you want.

The first person that shows up with money is getting that viper regardless of what you're told.

It did but I'm a pretty calm guy. It was a small dealership and I told them how I felt and everything. Things happen for a reason, ended up buying an 08 gt500 from a member here in amazing condition, less miles, everything was better.

update!

Spoke with the dealer this morning, got the deposit down, and they are over nighting me some paperwork to get started. :)

oh and as a teaser, the dealer sent me this video that the previous owners took for me before it made its way to the stealership!

update #2

Because I'm a crazy person and decided to buy common parts that fail on cobra's I had a spare radiator fan. (it was mounted on my bullitt though) I swapped the fan over replaced fuse and cobra is back in action. I decided it was time to do a quick engine bay cleaning while I had the radiator out too! Did a quick cleaning of the undercarriage and inspection which I do monthly. (because I'm anal about the mechanics of cars)

South Carolina plates on that Viper, whereabout in South Carolina are you picking it up from if you don’t mind me asking? I’m in Upstate SC so if it’s anywhere near here, I’d be more than happy to show you around, help you out this way if you need anything.

Appreciate the looking out! but car is no longer in SC. The dealership bought the car from a child hood friend as a favor. (Child hood friends grandfather owned the car and had passed away) I'm flying out next Friday to Columbus Indiana to pick up the car
