Can Ford just reveal this ****ing car already so we can all discuss it? Dream about it? Have dealers rape us trying to get one? Enough already!

Not for nothing, but let's get back to this topic. If the FORD GT500 is "gettable" for around mid 80's, then YES, in a heartbeat, I think you'd see me seriously considering saying goodbye to the Honda/Demon for one. Think I'll be able to get in one for around that? I'm just never paying over for the Shelby. Great as it will be, they will make WAY MORE than 3,300 and the value just won't hold.

I can guarantee you won't buy one for <MSRP in the first model year.

Very few will.

Also, you still lied. Where do you use all 840bhp in your Demon, every time you drive it?

Yes, every time I drive it. My drives usually consist of 6am runs on the highways leaving New York City. Wide open, full throttle, 100 Octane always in the tank. Every time I floor this car and keep the peddle pinned, isn't 840bhp happing? Not sure why the guy who sold his says you can't use it. I use it every time.

I'll be in NYC this weekend, we'll have to catch up.

It is pretty surreal to see those numbers thats for sure, gotta get past the name and look at the whole package I guess. The carbon car will infact beat a large number of supercars at least

I read $110k fully loaded MSRP.

$150k Mustang, coming soon to a dealer near you!!

That's insane. I'm sorry, but F that. The funny part is too they won't even ALLOW people to order the car they want...only 25% of people can order the track pack which EVERYONE will want. Who the hell is going to buy a standard $80,000+ compromise Shelby.

I think it might be more than insane. This feels like the moment Ford jumped the shark.
1. costs relative to the Mustang world (only the Super Snake is more)
2. costs relative to the marketplace (top shelf Camaro beats the GT350R)
3. dealer markups
4. no manual transmission
5. expensive popular options
6. is it a let down?
7. top model Mustangs always improve in subsequent years (2003/2004 Cobra and 2013/2014 GT500 and 2019 GT350), why get the first one?
8. GT350 and GT500 made in the same model year. It might be a good buy to get a GT350 vs a GT500.

Unless the new GT500 beats the pants off the top Camaro and makes the Corvette guys worried, I'll pass.

~$74k base with destination and gas guzzler tax. The carbon track package is the expensive part at $18.5k, which is probably ok but $10k for stripes is insane.

2019 Camaro ZL1 6spd w/1LE Track Perf Pack, wide stripe and NAV: $72,190 MSRP.

...doesn't/shouldn't the next GT500 have to beat that Camaro in price and performance?
