$6k for plastic flares? Same HP? What am I missing? I mean - it looks cool...but jeesh...
6k for the ability to maybe utilize the power now thanks to wider wheels and tire.

That aside I keep seeing people bitch about it “being the same hp” as if 700 is anything to scoff at lol. What a time to be alive where that’s not good enough a package in a car that will likely sell for under 70k on dealer lots.

What other 4 door is offering this new in this price point anyway?

Your missing a lot apparently.

6k is - custom fenders and quarter panels (they are a different cut radius underneath) with body extensions (flares)

3-way adjustable Bilstien Suspension

Upgraded Brakes

20x11 Wheels

305 Tires

Nearly a 1-second 1/4 mile improvement and a 3 second lap (whatever track) improvement.

It's a subtle change that does a lot to improve traction, handling and the overall stance and presence of the car. It's money well spent compared to a $5k Shaker hood, a $2k decal package or $2,500 wheel upgrade.

707 HP is a pantload. I am not disputing that. I know the widebody has wider tires. Just making a comment that $6k for flares and slightly wider tires seems excessive.

Edit - thanks for clarifying Corbic - that’s what I was looking for.

I agree. IMO those added flares don't look good (or factory) at all. They look like add-ons. Cheap looking. I wish they had done a more proper wide body, at least for the rear. Like this (on a Challenger). A nice, full flare from the door back.

Man they are going to keep milking that LX chassis until the tooling disintegrates.
I hope they then refurb the tooling and make some more. Let this bitch stick around for 30 years like the old Panther.

Were never going to get another car like this in today's culture.

Those both look awful. As I mentioned, the large slab sides don't lend themselves to being "wide body", pulling the whole fender out like that just makes it look bloated.

The fender arches are no more "tack on" looking then a New Edge mustang, which is a widebody SN95.

Sorry Bob, that looks like a puffy anus.

They didn’t, but there is a bit of similarity in the look. The noticeable change in body line. Yes, new edge’s was all one piece, but the effect was the same... that flared look!
One piece and designed like that from the start. To claim Dodge is legit with tacked on fender flares, because of the New Edge...is beyond stupid.

Doesn't mater what they claim, it is what it is however.

A "widebody" LX is 3" wider then a narrow body.

New Edge is 1.5" wider then a SN95.

Consider the level of effort applied between the two though.

Ford clay modeled a new car entirely.

Dodge sat around the garage one night drinking Hennessy and fireball shots, grabbed some cheap plastic flares in the corner, and stuck them on with double sided tape and self tappers.

One was an effort of a new body style, and the other was some "lets try this and see if idiots buy it" effort.
