Come on bro.. lol

First off, demon wasn’t even in its higher/race HP setting. It was in the 808hp configuration, not the 840.

Second, stock Demons on the 808hp setting are usually putting down 700ish rwhp and 675ish reto.

Third, the ZL1 in that video put down 723rwhp and 765rwtq.

That’s around 20-25 more rwhp and 90 more rwtq!

Then there is this (same ZL1 vs 967rwhp C7 corvette and a 700rwhp much much lighter 135i):

Ya the street is a cruel place, like races aren’t internet bench races and stuff. Sad. Poor guy bought a $100k muscle car that runs 9.65@140 but lost to a $60k car that runs 11.7@124 with $2500 of parts that somehow must now run [email protected] or faster. Based on that video, since we know every demon runs 9.65@140 from the Internet, that zl1 probably runs 8.5@175 for that mega ass kicking.

He should have won, it would be the correct outcome on the Internet.

Gt500 will do fine against demons on the street.

Tops it’s a car length behind on a 60-160, but I’m going to guess it’s door to door.

If the rev limiter is 8k, gt500 by a car when shifting up there.

760hp at 7500rpm, and that engine combo wants to rev. Here are examples of 2.65 coyotes with less duration and stubbier displacement.

Disregard the produced power number, but look at the graph.

The prior trinity gt500 is rated at”662hp@6200rpm” but the vast majority made 580-610whp just by revving to 6750rpm.

Graphs.

2013 Trinity before and after a tune. This was a high baseline that diablosport got but more important than the numbers is the graph. Notice at 6200rpm. Notice at 6750rpm.

If the gt500 is 760hp at 7500rpm or lower, my money is on it from a roll when the car is the slicker non aero deal. I think people will be surprised how quickly the base cars are.

Weight matters, but a bmw alpine b7 is ****ing heavy, and moves out up top. When a car is stable and planted, manufactures don’t have to load up down force. The slicker aero profile is excellent for speed. Speed has very little to do with lightness, and a car with .35 cofd will wreck a car with .40cofd even if it’s 500lbs heavier in a 60-160 race assuming same hp.

You guys are funny. Nice memes. I'll save them in my folder of internet victory.

I guess time will tell which car is faster. So when can I expect the first North East GT500 to arrive so we can settle this? I'm ready now. My guess is nothing until November.

That's 5 more months of this. But before we even do this race, you do realize automags will get their hands on the car and do this race EXACTLY. It will be a forgone conclusion before I even have to waste race fuel. But I'm still going to take that man's $500.

That’s fantastic logic!

I graduated internet bench race 101 lol.

The zl1 is modded for sure, and 720whp is 40 up on where I expect a gt500 to land, plus it’s 300lbs lighter.

That all said it put 2-3 cars on the demon from a roll giving the demon the hit and losing half a car at the start.

I never said the gt500 is gonna do the same, I’m saying it won’t be getting crushed.

For a while I’ve said the gt500 has 10.25-10.75 at 132-137 window that I expect to see.

Slicks and e85, I think it’s got the demon covered with a hero 9.6@141 somewhere/sometime just to be edgy and get the people bumpin (Kanye!)

I haven't read this entire thread, but has anyone mentioned transmission gearing yet? Engine torque is only half the story when bringing trans gearing and final drive into play.

I think Tob has posted the new DCT gear ratios (or projected at least) in here at some point, and frankly I can't be bothered to look it up, but I'd be interested to see what the torque "disparity" looks like when gearing in the first 2-3 gears is considered.

What I posted was what Tremec put up a couple of years ago and has been regurgitated now many times over. Still waiting to see a technical breakdown of the specifics on the GT500 unit.

You better hope not. Most auto mags test on the street and I have never seen a Demon win a dig race on the street.

I think you missed the video where that ZL1 barely loses to a 1000hp LIGHTER C7 Corvette. Or how that same ZL1 DESTROYED the beemer with similar power and close to 800lbs lighter.

I would not use that ZL1, as a gauge for what a 720rwhp car will do against a Demon.

I see a GT500 putting down 650-660 to the wheels, with the DCT being the star performer.

I also see the 500 (bone stock) doing very low 10s in HERO conditions/driver. Same conditions that would get a properly driven (bone stock) well into the 9s.

GT500 will NOT outperform a Demon at the 1/4 stock for stock or mod for mod.

The 500 is the better overall performing package / driver’s car, but the Demon is the best and BADDEST street legal strip / street MUSCLE car that money can buy, no question about it. Not even debatable.

137?? Possible I suppose, but that’s a tall damn order.

Lets be clear about the history here. Without the development of the roots supercharged factory Ford motors and the success of the Thunderbird SC, the Terminator Cobra, 1st Generation Ford GT, and the 2007 - 2014 GT500 by Ford there wouldn't be a supercharged Z06, ZR1, ZL1, Hellcat, Redeye, or Demon. Thank Ford for paving the way.

The 2020 GT500 may have been bench-marked against the Hellcat. So be it. Perhaps there will be a GT500R that will be bench-marked against the Demon or Redeye. There is a GT350 and GT350R, so a GT500R is possible.

I, for one, am glad to see the horsepower wars back in full swing. I like the beasts being produced by Dodge and GM. I just want to give credit where credit is due.
