Would this be the misfire culprit to cause timing pull and ultimately be down 100+rwhp? Yeah the shop said it’s a job and I think that’s what he has planned to do when he gets back.
I'm not sure if that would cause misfires. I suppose it's possible.....

It will definitely cause your car to pull timing, though. All that oil in your intercooler gets sucked through with the air charge. When that air with the oil droplets in it mixes with your fuel it lowers the octane, thus pulling timing.

Makes perfect sense to me. I will be checking the crank bolt in a few hours.

Get a shop vac and try to pull as much coolant out of the front holes as possible before you lift the intake. Itll dump a lot of coolant down the intake ports otherwise.

If there was enough oil to misfire, shouldn't there be oil on the plugs (possibly even the new ones)?

I think you can pull the front cover of the intercooler off ( the plate where the hoses change to metal tubes), its o ringed In with 4 bolts. I think you can get in and possibly see to the bottom through the hole that will make and you wouldn't need to pull the intake.

Oh, recheck the plug gaps. If it only misfires at higher throttle it could be blowing out spark.

I bet that intercooler is caked with oil if the previous owner saw boost a lot. The guys at the shop should be able to take care of it for you, or it's something you can do yourself. Worst part of pulling the lower intake manifold is getting the engine harness out of the way and the heater hose in the back. If you're going to do it yourself I'd suggest just cutting it and buying a new one. It's not a bad job, just a little time consuming. If you need the part # for the hose let me know, it's only about $10.
