And which banned member might you be? Or are you just a troll?

I’m a Ford enthusiast who buys Ford products.... except for this one. I’m not “fleek” enough on social media. Ford made the right call to sell this GT to only people that “matter”. I actually think that was Ol Henry’s motto, “I sell cars to the everyday social media icon”.

Cool.

I bet this edition is going to come with 2 extra inches of "trunk" space to make it more balanced on the track.......somehow. ;-)

You should be able to order the GT as close to race spec as federal regulations allow. What I mean......replace rubber bushings with spherical ends, all the winglets/dive planes, huge rear wing, intake snorkel, no sound deadening, no carpet, air jack, etc. Barely livable street car.

Maybe this car is just that.

It's a $400k limited supercar. So Ford is supposed to serve you by making every product financially available to you? How dare they develop such a vehicle that is out of the grasp of all but maybe 4 members on this board.

Sorry man, gotta disagree. The Senna already has what you just describes + and additional 150+ RWHP.

Just ask the Ford GT racing team if power is important. They get murdered coming out of slow corners vs. the competition because they are way down on HP.

Still a bloodbath

Wild guess, I think MM will offer a post title GTLM retrofit/tribute package for GT owners. If you so choose, you could send your car in, and MM would modify it accordingly to mimic the race cars, while still retaining all the street cars creature comforts.
Got to love BOP, less horsepower and more weight than their competitors in the the name of “even” racing.

I've been waiting for this car for over a year with my lips sealed. Not long now...
A year ago? Were you privy to inside information a year ago?
Did you know about your allocation a year ago? Haha. You don’t need to answer the last one....

You've never heard of BOP have you? And it's torque that gets you out of corners. In fact, torque does everything. HP is just a derived number.

I love the way these things look. But after hearing them in person at the Long Beach Grand Prix I can't get over how horrible they sound.

The street cars sound significantly better than the race cars.

That was the one thing I always wanted them to change on the race cars but I understand it was a matter of winning races vs sound.

You had a significantly better chance of being allocated one of these if you owned an 05/06 car than being a social media 'icon'.

+1 and +1 the street car actually sounds better than any mclaren.

From time to time I cruise the 17+ FGT forum and everyone in there is a previous GT owner and obvious die hard blue oval fan, all genuine car guys it seems but people like to focus on Cena lol. As for Schmee, as annoying as he can be, he 100% deserved one as he is genuine

I have heard street cars in person as well and while I agree they do sound better, but they just don't do it for me.

From my POV, a track-only model is much better than a hopped-up street version. For one thing, you can actually use all that extra power and downforce on the trace. For another, Ford isn't setting a precedent of obsoleting their existing halo car before its production is even complete.

I'm really really looking forward to this car!

What were you expecting? I think it looks cool. Now how will it perform?
Was hoping for a full aero street car. This car is very cool but almost entirely pointless. How will it perform? Compared to what? It will destroy literally any street legal car but then it doesnt have a class to pit it against.

I get what you’re saying. But it’s going to be fast, for the sake of going fast. Not sure that I see it as pointless.

At least around here, we have track days for racing cars and people bring GT3 cars, turbo Ferrari Challenge cars, even LMP2 cars. This will fit right in.

Also handy for any American-car-only time trial series in the area :)
