I believe I need to change my starter which is the original one in there from 1999. I looked up how to do it on YouTube and by the looks of it it’s three bolts and from what I see there is one bolt that is difficult to get out pending what kind of mid pipe i have. I have a Mac Pro chamber mid pipe no cats so will I be able to take my starter in and out with minimal difficulties not having cats?

Do you have long tubes?
There is a top bolt that sometimes doesn't get reinstalled...and is a bitch to get to.
The bolt head is pointing toward the front of the car.

I think it is usually accessd via extensions though the kmember from the front.

You will want to take the passenger side wheel off and pull the liner to get a better idea of the path it needs to go. Having someone under the starter to help see the socket will help too.
The path is between the kmember and the back bolt the holds the motor mount.....
Right along the top of the kmember where it bolts in.

There are some helps on youtube.

If you reinstall the bolt..tape the socket tightly to the extension, the extensions to each other and the bolt lightly to the socket with electrical tape..not too tight. That way you can snake the bolt in on the socket, tighten the bolt on and then yank the socket and extension(s) out when done. Works for me.

Late to the party, but what I ended up doing was laying under the control arm. That way I could see the bolt on the starter while slide the extension through. The wheel and fender apron were removed. I kind of hugged the K member with the way I had my arms. Worked well to get to that top bolt.

Top bolt=shitload of extensions and swivels. Then leave it out. Never have put the top bolt back in any modular I've owned and never 1 issue. Hell, the engine I have in there now is a Conti 4V with a bellhousing adapter to convert it to RWD and I literally CAN'T do the top bolt. Conti block=have to grind the top bolt ear off the starter plus a little more to make it fit lol.
