hmmmmmmmmm

Venom KILLS Demons? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA

Please someone explain to me how this race is going to be close? I love the excuse the clowns are making about "too much torque spins the tires!" HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

And Ford is calling this the most powerful V8? HAHAHAHHA. Um, Red Eye and Demon both top it. Guys I love you all, but just admit, this car will not kill a Demon. Nor is it raising the bar anywhere. Heck, if Chevy puts the current ZR1 engine in the Camaro, it will slay this thing. HAHAHHAHHAA.

But seriously, I think On D Bit is going to spin the low torque number 15 different ways. Can't wait to see his excuses.

I think this car will hang with the Red Eye, but it's clear that Ford developed a car to beat the Hellcat, they did not anticipate the Demon/Red Eye. For me the main issue is going to be actually getting a GT500 Track Pack at MSRP anywhere.

That being said, I feel bad for the guys that want to roll race me down all that power. Who's still in. Taking bets. Let's do this.

You know the Venom kills Demon's quote was from a private event not meant to be recorded and taken out of context. I talked with Jim Owen's and he regrets saying it as it was not meant as the GT500 would beat it straight up in drag racing but as an all-around car. Keep in mind at the time of the comment there was no Redeye Challenger and the Demon is just a one trick pony.

If that makes everyone feel better, feel free to hang onto the excuse made for a premature prediction. The man screwed up, end of story.

OP read the release without your troll glasses on... Never does it say most powerful V8... They use a ricer spin on it instead

Yeah he made a mistake, took ownership of it along with the regret. He's a super nice guy and passionate about the Ford Performance vehicles which is what you want in a marketing manager. The GT500 is going to be a better car overall than the Demon which is a one trick pony. Stop getting hung up on a comment and sit back and enjoy the real world performance once the GT500 arrives. It will be impressive.

I've heard this excuse before, but there's no way in the world Owens didn't realize that a Demon is a drag race purpose car and it wasn't at a road course race or taken out of context. He could have chosen ANY VEHICLE, like say the Porsche or BMW they benchmarked against, but he chose the Dodge on purpose. He realized they were gonna fall short and back tracked, like any politician would (He's the marketing manager, which is in essence the same thing).

What isn't really being said here is that Demon is no longer a production vehicle and therefore I don't think you can compare the two fairly if you can't go buy them both on the same day.

That leaves the Redeye and the GT500 which weighs???? (lots of people saying right @ 4200...we will see soon hopefully).

Redeye 797/707 @ 4451
GT500 760/625 @ ____ (4200)

Should be interesting if the 4200 is right.

IMO the C8 will be an amazing road race car with the new design will set the new benchmark for American made cars.

Then there's this: Dodge Viper

I like the one trick pony. It's a great car. I'm honestly hoping Ford makes an impact, and that Dodge will step back on the plate with a new Viper and maybe even an upgraded Challenger. Barracuda maybe?

You aren't supposed to make a sensible post. Stop it.

From what I've seen on YouTube, the Demon is trash at roll racing. So, I wouldn't be too prematurely smug, if I were you.

It's not great since my stock C7 Z06 runs pretty even with my friend's Demon in a roll race. It drives him nuts but from a dig it's no contest and I get smoked. The Demon is a cool car but the Redeye is a better car overall.

There are 2 types of clown out there . Looks like you fall into category 2
type 1 - have nice cars , have tons of experience in drag racing, go the track often , test cars on the street and the track
type 2 - have nice cars I mean garage queens , huge keyboard warriors with no experience at all , have zero facts to back up their crap

Reading comprehension, is it even a thing anymore?

I’m a big fan of the demon and often times can be found in threads defending it for its worth. That said, the ford ad clearly stated most powerful “Ford” V8 ever and most powerful supercharged power per liter.

Seriously the demon is a great drag focused car. The GT500 will be a great all around car more focused on handling. A better comparison would be to the red eye to which I think the GT500 will perform equally with straight line and out perform on a road course.

I will never care what a “stock” car runs. 90% of us mod our cars in one way or another. Demon/Red Eye/ Hellcat/GT500 are all great machines. Run what ya brung and see what happens. If you lose to a modded car then admit the loss. If losing bothers you, mod your car and improve your driving skills and try again. If losing doesn’t bother you then you are lucky - because there always is going to be somebody faster.
