Well I finally cut the cord today. We use so many streaming services that we just weren’t watching cable television anymore. And whenever we were it was usually “On-Demand” stuff. So now we “just” have gigabit internet.

I cut it for about a year, playstation vue and 100mb cable internet and found I was paying much more for fewer channels than the new offers coming in from Cox. I'm paying the same now but with about every channel, including all the big movie ones and now 300mb internet.
Apparently it's becoming more common. But I think it really depends on what you watch too.

When you get used to it and adapt you'll soon realize how awful of a format cable tv is. It's amazing watching cable resist technology

Cut the cord a couple years ago and my only regret is not doing it sooner.
If you pay a few bucks more a month you can get commercial free Hulu. It's so worth it.

I've been on Hulu for several years. They used to show you a couple short commercials per show. Now it's like (4) 30 seconds or more and they repeat that like 3-4 times per show. It's about the same as regular TV now. Which it's to be expected since that's where TV is headed.

Yeah it's crazy, it's like 90 seconds of commercials every 15-20 minutes. I use Netflix and Prime more than Hulu but I'll ask the wife about the commercial free.

What’s the best non cable tv service, Hulu?

As stated above I mostly watch Netflix and Prime on my Fire tv. I also have the Cinema app downloaded for everything in between.

I can’t stand Netflix for movies. Everything I want to watch they don’t have. Do they have real time tv shows?

Same with amazon or do you need to watch tv the next day?

We still use antenna reception for regular TV programs. And Prime for everything else. Our family has just doesn't watch TV like we did 5-10 years ago. We do stream a lot more music though.

Really depends what you watch. I have DirectTV Now for like $50 and it has so many channels and so much on demand stuff and I can watch it anywhere at any time. Also have Netflix and Amazon Prime. Just depends on your interests.

I use the devil, DirecTV Now/AT&T, since I have AT&T internet.
Upside is "unlimited" streaming due to using both on the same account.
Don't know if it slows the service, but at least I won't have to worry about getting charged if I go over the limit.

I just dumped comcast cable after being with them for 9 years. I kept the internet though. I do not miss it... Look into sling TV. I'm saving $80/mo now. Never going back.

I had to keep a contract with them due to a build out (laying line to the house). I have another 6 months or so before I can get out of it and move back to streaming only.

With that being said, cable is nice when you can just hit a button and not think about it. Whatever is on, is on. Sometimes I get tired of having to decide what to watch.
