Absolutely nothing wrong with wearing a rubber band where you can not wear a metal band. But I'd love to hear your reasoning.

Of course there's nothing wrong with it. I just don't understand the point. Do you HAVE to be wearing a ring at all times? Does it make you feel like you're not married if you're not wearing something on your finger?

I'm more concerned about the price we spend on their rings and the price they spend on ours. I mean....$7500 to $400? What rings you guys go with?

Yep. I'd say if I had a valuable stone in my wedding band, I'd be more concerned with loss over workplace safety. If I'm working on energized gear, then metal stuff comes off my body. My band cost $90 about 30 years ago. The rock in hers cost $4K back then too.

Metal wedding bands can be really expensive. As noted, a metal ring can be a potential hazard. I'd never heard of silicone finger rings, but I can see their place. If people like silicone, go for it! I see there are lots and lots of designs and colors.

Ring doesn't make you married or make you act married. I don't wear a ring due to work.

Wear what you like you. Silicone would be non reactive and ideal for corrosive, electrical and mechanical environments. As an old person they look cartoonish but nobody is trying to please me.

It's a thing called respect, which I have for my wife and she has for me. If you don't see respect that way...it's your opinion to have as is mine.

Nope, never considered one either. I worked as a mechanic when I got married and I would take ring off before shift and put back in after shift. I don’t know how a ring is restrictive.

How does a simple metal ring feel restrictive? Too tight?

Wearing a ring felt weird to me for a month and now it feels completely normal.

Nope, fits just fine. I just don't like the weight of the ring I guess. It's been two years and I take it off first thing when I get home.

Maybe some of you ladies work in a hair salon. Some men work in very dangerous places for metal rings. Coworker lost everything but bone on his finger when I first joined the Navy to a forklift. Last year a pneumatic cylinder bent another coworkers ring and they had to cut it off because his finger was swelling. I have one to wear when I am at work, metal band when not at work. There are legit reasons....other than being a ***.
I don't wear mine in my shop either, due to the fact I know a guy who got his finger cut off due to getting caught in a table saw.

But I do put mine in my pocket, but I'd hate to accidentally lose mine if it some how fell out.

Nope certainly don't. But I would actually like to enjoy wearing my ring.

It is super common in the crossfit world. Allows you to lift and not take the band off. My wife and I have Qalo Silicon rings. Do to extreme nerve pain in my hands wearing normal metal bands are too painful. I find that the silicon rings are much more comfortable and less painful.
