I agree.... you don’t compare the Demon to a 500. Demon has remained true to its roots and 500 has now morphed into a working man’s super sports car. Which is not a bad thing.

Demon is the indisputable KING of the street and strip. But the 500 is the superior road course vehicle and driver’s car.

They are 2 different cars with 2 different purposes. Both awesome though.

working mans super sports car? I don't think blue collar middle america can afford a $80,000 msrp mustang. Heck most white collar cant either. Most of these cars will end up in the garages of retired, fully funded pension baby boomers.

but i guess compared to a $130k demon its a bargain.

I don't care too much that ford doesn't waste money on marketing the car. But they need to produce the cars for the customer in the desired configuration and I think the manual option should exist.

As for beating a Demon IMO that might not mean faster in the quarter, just fast as shit and also a track monster.

I wouldn't go so far as to call this marketing but rather a tactical delay. Ford seems to finally realize they are moving too slowly but doing this was in poor taste. Release the power figures as well as the order guide so we can kindly move on to the next obstacle, please.

Seriously Ford, this is a shit show. You are mucking up a great effort.

"Desired configuration" is all subjective.

Numerous people bitched about the Gen II Raptor getting the HO EcoBoost... a lot of those guys/gals are driving them now.

At the end of the day, yes I enjoyed rowing the gears...but I would take some paddles in my ACR ALL DAY LONG, and twice on Sunday. I want it to be as fast as it possibly can be.

Let's not forget OP has a $500 bet with me that a 500 will walk a demon from a roll...

I hope you define “walk”...

Just ran my foot up your butt in 9.75 seconds. Took a while to get in since it's so damn tight.
Damn that is slow!

To those saying get the GT500 for a ROAD COURSE car...huh? It's a heavy pig. The new C8 is going to destroy the GT500 around a road course. Mid engine. Lighter. And wait to the Z06 hits. Just saying. The Mustang is more confused as to its purpose than ON D BIT is when he stands in front of a toilet. The shit goes in the bowl son!

4 seconds faster at a 2.5 mile track. If that’s big willow the GT500 is running the the neighborhood of 1.24.29.
991TS 1.24.26
675LT 1.24.29
600LT 1.24.71
Aventador SVJ 1.24.92
C7Z06 1.25.00
AMG GTR 1.25.37

Are you saying the base C8 will destroy the C7 Z06 on track? Has any base next gen vette destroyed the current Z06 on track?

It would have been much better just to announce it out of the blue on Wednesday, or say it will be announced on a Wednesday 6.19.19.

English much?

"...announce it out if blue"? Pretty sure they will offer blue if that's what you meant.

"...be announced a Wednesday 6.19.19" Well it can't be a Tuesday 6.19.19.

Another great addition from the D, lol.

It's all about likes and retweets. GTFO with this lame ass millenial, hidden gay agenda, attempt to be relevant to a demographic that will constitute 0% of those that actually buy the car.

I want to see titties, beer, guns blazing, and this car tearing up a road course/drag strip. The exact opposite of what we are now being spoon fed.

God bless America. The old one.

Ford Motor Company isn't focused on pumping the car up, period. They aren't going to spend an unnecessary amount of money to pump up a car that is already HIGHLY anticipated, and will sell extremely quickly.

FMC has a track record of providing vehicles with an abnormally LARGE demand, and not advertising them or pumping them up before the release.

1.) The 2013 GT500 was the fastest selling sports car in the United States when it was released. It averaged 8 days on the showroom floor before selling, I don't remember which car was next, but it averaged nearly 30 days.
2.) The 2005 Ford GT was in one commercial during the Super Bowl, that was it...it's now selling for 2.5-4 times it's original MSRP.
3.) The 2017 Ford GT had people jumping out of buildings, among other highly illegal activities, to make videos to hopefully earn the right to purchase one.
4.) The 2000 Cobra R had 0 advertisements centered around it, yet the exclusivity of the vehicle sold itself.

Yes, I think FMC needs to get with the program and advertise their top tier, exciting, and 'fun' vehicles more...but I don't blame them either, why spend $XXX,XXX on an advertising campaign when you don't have to?

Hell, Dodge never advertised the Viper. The cool Pennzoil commercials came out AFTER they were done making them.

agreed!

The fact that you all thought Ford would do it any other way is the real joke. Their Marketing has always been lackluster. Also, isn't the demon like $130k? base price of a GT500 is literally a little over half that.

all of you bitching will either be broke and still not able to get one or be rolling in one talking about how awesome it is. Swear you guys complain more than teenage girls.

Nah. It is around $85K. If someone paid $130k it is because their dealer hates them. Personally for around $80k, I would end up jumping to a C7 Zo6.

Ah good to know. That's a bargain for what you get. just seems like the GT500 is still the best car, it can actually turn and probably run 9's with a tire/tune

Cambridge....one of the best higher educations institutes in the world. They’ve been teaching English since 1209, over 800 years, in England 50 miles north of London.

They recognize my English.

I wasn't sure what he was getting at either with the "English much" comment. The post seemed on point to me.

You wrote "...out IF the blue".

One improper word and one missing word in one sentence made it difficult to comprehend. Then there was the pleonasm when you wrote "a Wednesday 6.19.19."

Maybe you should recognize your own mistakes before trying to say I made one? Maybe give that higher education institute a shot yourself?

It is fined to but the weekday in front of the numerical calendar date. That way it is easy for people to place the day of the week without looking at a calendar, and still know what month and year you are referring to. Most of us type from a phone, and auto correct is a bitch. So lighten up professor.

Yes... a stretch but doable. Much easier to attain than a $250k entry level exotic.

With the oem dr’s, oem skinny fronts, with tons of VHT, with cold weather, etc.

Have there been 5 verified oem tunes in the 9’s? Serious question. Most I see are in the low 10’s.

No matter which way you spin it... 9 sec car, oem stock.

Pretty sure FMC knows what they're doing when it comes to marketing their cars. There's no reason to be the loudest guy in the room when their flagship sports cars sell themselves. Being understated has an appeal all its own.
