Nobody interested, actually interested, as in willing and able to buy, a GT500, cares about what dodge is doing. Dodge made a great marketing claim for people over 50, thats about it. when rubber meets the road, its a GT500 Vs Zr1/C8 battle and the GM stuff that is a threat, technically isnt in the same class. Within a month of 500's hitting the streets, every Dodge owner will be running scared, ZL1 1LE ( that name along is a fail) will cower back to their corners, and it will be a drag and roll race hysteria between '19 ZR1s and online debates about the C8's

Car will be a rapist.....Ford won't disappoint. Remember all the magazines and test drivers blowing their wads on themselves over the GT350? My guess is that this will be that + 250HP/250TQ...just a guesstimate. Not pulling a DepWraith here, no inside scoop from a corpse or anything along those lines. Just a hypothesis based on previous performance.

We don't know what's happening with that C8 car yet AFA engine options are concerned so I highly doubt it will be a match to the Shelby, but I'm pretty certain that the new Shelby is not touching a 19 ZR1 stock vs. stock.

The ZR1 will embarrass it.

I just hope it doesn't touch the 19 ZR1 price with the ADM.

With the DCT, my money is on the GT500 in a straight line, and it will be a lot closer battle than many think on a road course.

You need to read up on some performance specs on the ZR1. Ford has said mid 3 sec 0-60mph times the ZR does it in 3 flat or 3.1. It weighs 5-600lbs. lighter than the Shelby with near 50-50 weight distribution.

The DCT may be the X factor for the Shelby, but a competent person rowing the 7sp manual wouldn't have a problem being ahead and staying there.

I look forward to the next Lightning lap when the Shelby will debut to see what times it will do at VIR. The ZR has the alltime 2nd best lap time on the track only 2 secs behind the leader GT2 RS Porsche (and they used the A8 instead of the M7 which has proven to have some weird shifting issues when tracked).

2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Lightning Lap Results for 2018

A Z06 might be a better competitor to the new Shelby on the road course (ALA the cooling/heat soak issues have been figured out for the lesser Z).

We know the LT5 will make it's way into a Camaro so my guess is 760 just to "edge out" the 755 rating of the LT5.

At this point though, half of me hopes it does come with 720 and still kick ass just to shut down some of the nonsense posts in this thread. Horsepower ratings don't mean shit, it's actual performance figures that matter unless your only interest is dick measuring on the internet.

Audi S3 is "rated" at 292 hp, but has a quicker ET and faster trap speed than the 350 HP focus RS. Maybe Audi under rates their engine, maybe the DSG is magic, but the fact of the matter is the car with ~60 less hp is faster.

My nickname in high school and college was dsg because I could shift quicker than Audi and vw dsg’s of the time.

I remember a race we’re I drove a manual 2.0 turbo with 250whp from a dig and roll against a 250whp dsg Audi A4. I was 1-2 cars out on the Audi both times

Id wager some money you are wrong, but also like i said, 500 and 19 zr1 are not in the same technical class nor financially equally comparable.

Im sure once i get my 500 i can call up fran at RPM and have him find me a stock zr1 to put head to head immediately

Ford is acting like we haven't seen 700+ horses from Dodge and Chevy now for years. It's like they just made a better version of themselves, but will no way be the king of the road once they reveal the final kiddy twitter image. What a totally BADASS marketing move FORD!!!!
