What's up guys so I am having a problem with my 11 GT500 my rpms will get very high with little acceleration. I assume it's a clutch issue 47k miles second owner. Could an o-r pipe cause this issue or anything else or is it a for sure sign my clutch is on it's way out. Thank you

If you are doing 60 ish and nail it and the revs go up but speed does not the clutch is toast. If it does it with just a little gas it is probably really gone. Do not know how a OR pipe would have anything to do with it.

Where’s the speed sensor on your car? Mine is on the output of the trans. When my clutch started slipping the rpms and speed went up but I could tell it wasn’t pulling.

You usually get a little chatter as well.

Ok something isn’t adding up. The clutch won’t just slip all the time. If you just shift into 2nd and 4rpms is 20, adding more throttle would just make it slip more.

I'm not sure where the speed sensor is. And when I'm in 1st my rpms will get high theres just no pull ( speed doesnt increase like it should )

I'm not sure where my speed sensor is. I'll have to look it up. Could that be an issue and will my car throw a code?

Well the seat of the pants doesn’t lie. If your car isn’t pulling/accelerating and the RPMs go up, either the clutch is slipping or tires are spinning.

Should be very easy to tell.

Freeway or @50mph in 4th and stab the gas. It’ll bog if the clutch is holding.

my clutch is on its way out. 1 2 and 3 will hold the power. 4th will slip a little 5th and 6th no way the clutch will hold. Slips bad. Usually the higher the gear the more it will slip with a bad clutch. Maybe your thow out bearing, slave cylinder is sticking not allowing the clutch to fully engage. Either way the tranny has to come out to repair.

I just went through this in the winter. It got progressively worse, but I started noticing it occasionally on the highway, in 6th, if I was doing 60ish and stabbed the throttle it would have a deep shudder and not pick up speed very well. At first it wouldn't do it all the time, but quickly it became more frequent and then it eventually would slip in lower and lower gears. Luckily I had a McLeod RXT and when I got it out, sent it back to them with the flywheel and they rebuilt the whole setup for $540.
