Long tubes with NO CATS it a real game changer....I would imagine any straight through muffler would be hard pressed to subdue the LOUDNESS!!
Sure, running SW Long Tubes with no cats and straight through muffler. The Bassani resonated X cleared up the drone and rasp just fine :)

Glad you got it fixed to your liking......lucky the Bassani piece did the job!!:)

I've spent a fortune trying different exhaust arrangements and mufflers......would really like to try Corsa Sports but their price is just too high for me and what I have now sounds very good....with NO DRONE!!;)

BTW.....I just noticed you're in Charleston......HOWDY NEIGHBOR!!:D

Don't feel alone......I was like you.....and most Borla employees were also until they pulled that drawing!!;)

I was gonna send 'em back to AM but tried them instead......PERFECT with the exception of the tips being too long.....so I cut 'em off.......look much better on my car now IMHO......see photos!!:)View attachment 1574862 View attachment 1574863 View attachment 1574864 View attachment 1574865

The FRPP Touring muffler part#M-5230-SVT1 that I posted was for the 2007-09 GT500. I wasn't aware that your GT500 is a 2011-14 model for which Borla changed their entire exhaust line for the 2011-14 Coyote 5.0, 2011-14 Shelby GT500 and current 15-19 S550 models. Anyhow, the Touring mufflers for the 2007-09 GT500 models were, in fact, the previous design that had the straight thru, single core perforated design, just as the Borla Touring 11752 which is still in production for the 2005-10 Mustang GT. I also just looked at your photos and the tips definitely look much better after cutting the length down

Thanks.......I understand when Mufflers are made to fit 2011-2014 cars the tips have to be longer for the earlier models so they're just too long for the 2014 cars so I bit the bullet and took the Dremel to 'em with a Cut Off wheel.....GOT LUCKY and they came out good!!

Ford also changed everything for 2011-2014, the previous 2007-2010 had factory 2.5" exhaust and the 2011-2014 had 2.75"........also changed at Ford was the muffler mounting, 2007-2010 had 2-point mounting and 2011-2014 had 3-point mounting, so all of this would also translate to the aftermarket for direct fit replacement.

I would like to hear feedback on the MAC Pro-Chamber. Shown below is the 2.5" 2007-2010 application with the hanger points that were specific to the 2007 GT500, but can also be used on the later GT500's with the 2007 cross member, also shown below........

Yes, I know that Ford also changed the factory piping from 2.5" to 2.75" and also from the 2-point mounting to 3-point mounting for the 2011-14 cars. However, that wasn't what I was referring to. My response to Coosawjack's post was in reference to the internal design changes between the 2007-09 FRPP Touring muffler M-5230-SVT1 which had the previous single perforated core, straight thru design just as the Borla Touring muffler, part # 11752 which still remains in production for the 2005-10 Mustang GT has over the 2011-14 Borla/FRPP Touring muffler for which Borla changed the internal design to include chambers along with their straight thru perforated cores. As for the Mac ProChamber, that's specific to the 2007-10 GT500 hanger points but can also be used on the later GT500's with the 2007 cross member? I'd recommend contacting Mac Performance directly, as they would be your best resource to address your question.

No, I was not questioning the 2007 cross member use on the newer GT500's, I have one on my 2008. I have read posts by owners who are wondering why their aftermarket X or H has hanger rods, but no place to hang or support on the car? <<That is because the aftermarket makes their exhaust pieces to work on all of the correct applications and the 2005-2007 Mustang GT and 2007 GT500 had the cross member with the exhaust hangers, and 2008-up did not, however, that 2007 cross member will directly bolt into a later car, specifically 2008-2010 and accept those hanger rods that otherwise would be just hanging there with nothing to do. I preferred adding that 2007 cross member to add some support instead of hanging all of the exhaust system weight on the manifold/header bolts at the front and the rubber hangers at the rear.

Those FRPP M-5230-SVT1 mufflers......How do they compare to the 2008/09 GT500KR mufflers in construction and db?

I am specifically interested in what the MAC Pro-Chamber will do for drone? It may eliminate it.

The mac pro chamber will be signifcantly more quiet then an H or X pipe so it may eliminate drone just due to the low sound it produces, My car was quieter with an O/R PC vs stock catted H pipe and same catback.

Robert, The FRPP Touring muffler for the 2007-09 GT500, part # M-5230-SVT1 was discontinued by Borla between 2009-10. Therefore the only way you're going to find them, is either on e-bay, Craig's list or if somebody has them for sale on the forums. As for how they compare to the 2008-09 FR500S aka GT500KR mufflers? The M-5230-SVT1 Touring mufflers were constructed internally with a single core, perforated tube-straight thru design just like the Borla Touring, part# 11752 which is still in production for the 2005-10 Mustang GT. Sound-wise, the Touring SVT1 muffler has the same deep/mellow sound as the Borla #11752 Touring muffler. The 2008-09 GT500KR muffler is louder by comparison but is quieter than the Borla/FRPP stinger muffler and also has a cleaner, throaty sound. As for the Mac ProChamber? all I can tell you is that when it comes to my particular application, the Mac ProChamber doesn't do anything at all for drone. As a matter of fact, I have the Mac ProChamber paired together with my stock cats and Borla S-type (stingers) on my 2006 Mustang GT and the ProChamber doesn't help in reducing the drone at all. So now I'm in the process of looking into replacing the Borla Stingers with either the FR500S aka GT500KR mufflers or the Roush extreme cat back exhaust, part# 403936 as I just can't deal with the ear-splitting drone from the Borla S-type mufflers any longer. Perhaps for some reason, the 2005-10 Mustang GT models with the 4.6L 3valve motors are more prone to producing resonance drone than the previous generation SN-95 1996-04 4.6L 2valve motors and 2011-current Coyote 5.0L 4valve motors, but that's just a guess on my part, so who really knows for certain? As for the 2007 cross member, if it will bolt directly to the later 2008 and up GT500's as you mentioned, then I see no reason why it wouldn't accept the hanger rods from a ProChamber that is designed to fit the 2007 cross member. In the meantime, I've also attached an image of the 2007-09 FRPP Touring muffler, part# M-5230-SVT1.

Perhaps the Mac ProChamber for the previous generation 1996-04 SN-95 4.6L 2valve models and 2011-14 GT/GT500 4valve models are significantly quieter. However, when it comes to the previous generation 2005-10 4.6L 3valve models, nothing could be further from the truth. As posted above, I have the Mac ProChamber paired with my OEM cats and Borla S-type (stingers) on my 2006 Mustang GT. Prior to pairing the ProChamber with the stock cats, I ran the ProChamber O/R with just the Borla S-type mufflers and for my particular application, the O/R ProChamber was significantly louder than it is now after paring it together with the stock cats. I can also confirm that for my application, the ProChamber has NOT reduced the interior resonance drone produced by my Borla S-type mufflers whatsoever by neither running the ProChamber as O/R or when paired together with the stock cats. Therefore, this is my reason for looking into replacing the Borla S-type mufflers with either the Ford Racing FR500S aka GT500KR mufflers or the Roush extreme cat-back exhaust, part# 403936 as I just can't handle the ear-splitting resonance drone from the Borla S-types any longer!

I got it directly from Borla......and the first engineer I spoke with at Borla said the same thing you are saying but when they looked.....FORD HAD SPEC'D a chambered muffler which they built for Ford for several years.....I got the LAST set from AM......discontinued!!;)

Attached is the engineering drawing on my mufflers.......baffled and chambered by BORLA!!

Do you have the exact part number of the camber touring mufflers you have? I just got the borla tourings (13-14) and feel like I would prefer them to be chambered.

The part number in the photo is for the sport mufflers not the touring though?

Well......wonder of wonders.......I remembered that I kept the shipping box and just went to the attic to discover there was a "Packing Slip" attached!!

The Ford Performance Part Number for the Touring Mufflers is: M-5230-MGTCA

Damn so those are the only ones that are chambered and not the GT500 SVTCA number, interesting that would chamber the GT spec model ones and not the GT500 spec ones. I read on another page that someone contacted FR about the differences between the two and they simply said the M-5230-MSVTCA are tuned for a gt500 5.4 engine and the M-5230-MGTCA are tuned for the GT 5.0s and they cannot guarantee either will sound right on the different motors.

Whenever you deal with exhaust sound it's just too subjective to guarantee anything other than the exhaust will FLOW through it!!
