That's a hell of a stereotype. Might as well outlaw sporting events, concerts, bars, stripclubs, hookah lounges, places of employment, college campuses, parks, hiking trails, golf courses, hunting areas, etc if illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons are involved.

Any of those places have more illegal substances than a car event.

The only difference is that those places make the gov. money.
I've spent a lot of time at dragstrips around the Country. There are fewer sober people than intoxicated. I'm pretty sure my last trip to Carolina Dragway left me with a contact high. I couldn't go anywhere to escape the smoke.

The people at Carolina are a different bunch. They tend to leave the racing at the track. No one leaves acting like an idiot. Maybe that's because they don't want to win the prize of a DUI.

Murder is a crime. The military murders innocent people.
People assault and batter each other on football fields and UFC/boxing rings.
Cops drive recklessly for no reason.

There's a law to get everyone. Everyone's a criminal.

Of all the meaningless things ive been pulled over for car wise, they could have used that time to find trafficked victims. Instead they are long gone.
War is killing, but not a crime. That is a military battle, and sadly innocent lives will be lost in some campaigns. It is a tragedy, but not a crime.

Contact sports are legal. The people involved in the sport are trained athletes that volunteer to be beaten on in some manner. Again, perfectly legal.

This is like saying all hotels are bad, and picking the slum motel in the projects as an example. Alcohol/drugs is involved with nearly every hobby/interest. If a mall was outside and in a remote location with few cops, there would be plenty of drugs.

Justify it any way you would like. I have been a part of the street scene like many others have. It was illegal then, and it's illegal now. Some get caught. You know the consequences before you ever act.

On the flip side, there are plenty of people who have died in other ways where their family would want the politicians to focus on their deaths.

Just because they want something done doesnt mean something needs to be done.

Dang, you're still around?
^^^^ on the flip side
Track crashes are expected n handled very well.
Street racing takes away innocent lives who happens to like the sport in wrong place/s....
" if my son/daughter got injured while racing on track,
they injured only Themselves"
" if they were street racing and tragedy occurred,,
I would expect them to face the stiffest penalty....
I can't imagine the depth of dispare families go thru
"""""". On both sides of the coin"...............

Again, I am not saying those deaths aren't tragic. My point is innocent people die all sorts of different ways. Plenty of people die in normal traffic incidents where no one was street racing. People die walking across the street.

It is unfortunate but sometimes there is nothing further that can be done with laws. Once laws are on the books making something illegal, then continually making them tougher doesnt stop the problem.

there's a 1/4 mile track out on the east side of town, used to have a 1/8th on the west side until there was a bunch of bullshit and it closed. All the ricers are back to street racing like crazy since the 1/8th mile track closed, they kept it going until 2am or so trying to keep them off the streets. They run around like idiots as soon as it starts getting dark out.

I somewhat agree with most,, but
In the eyes of the court.....
"The Intent to street race before the accident happens shows disregard to possible tragic events occur"

ya there were a couple of domestic people that knew where all the ricer parking lot meets were, we'd go sit way on the other side and watch the shit show. The cops would inevitably show up, they'd run all them off then wander over to us and apologize for ending the show and say we should leave too.

How much theft is there in countries where they cut your hand off for stealing?

Even after four pages, I still think it's easiest to just not street race or man up if caught. I would bet the chances of someone getting wrapped up in this law through the actions of an enemy or someone out to make your life a living hell are slim to none. Illegal is illegal.

I guess I should have made a caveat. Considering we have the 8th amendment in the constitution that doesn't allow for cruel or unusual punishment. Cutting off someone's hand for stealing would definitely fall into that category. Sure, you can make it so if you speed you get the death penalty but that certainly would be way overkill.

My point is, the way laws function now, they just keep making the fine higher or take more stuff away from you. That doesn't fundementally fix the problem. Why do people street race? They should be trying to answer that question and finding solutions that fix that.
