Finding a Tuner

I've been having issues finding someone to tune my 2004 cobra. It seems all of the shops in the area have moved to HP Tuners, and are running into a slew of issues trying to tune the cobras.

I'm waiting for John over at LRS performance, who was recommended by everyone I've talked to. He has been trying to get another cobra done for the past few weeks, and is struggling to get HP Tuners to work with the car.

Has anyone else run into this issue with HP Tuners?

I bought the car back in December, mods are accufab tb and plenum, SCT MAF, catted x and borla cat back, and a 2.81" upper. It has an unknown tune from the previous owner and runs great, aisde from a terrible hesitation when shifting WOT. Its essentially a full 1 second delay where there is no power before it comes back on.

Everything I've read says this can likely be tuned out, but I have a parts to delete the PPRV sitting on the side just in case. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any suggestions?

Hp tuners does in fact suck for 03/04 cobras.

Have you contacted anybody from this forum for an email tune?

Can't go wrong with MalcolmV8 on here. There are a couple other very good ones on here too I just went with Malcolm because he's such a good person and looks out for your best interest. He's helped me out so much prior to me inquiring for a tune and never asked for anything in return nor made it seem like he didn't have time for all my engine build questions. He knows these cars inside and out.

Are you in the Chicagoland area that you mentioned LRS Performance? If so, not everyone has moved to HP Tuners. We have 5 Mustang shops in the area that tune with SCT, and 2 or 3 of them also use HP Tuners. Your setup is very basic and should be very easy to tune if everything is setup and functioning properly.

if u just need to fix a minor issue u dont really need to tune it just adjust it.

go to moates.net and order a moates quarterhorse $250

Read out your current tune and simply adjust the fuel pump corrections integral proportional and deriviative scalars. You can post a thread on the efidynotuning forum if you have issues. Nothing to it.

The custom tuning software is free on that website as well.
