Are 79-04 cars supply dwindling?

I mentioned this in LNC, but wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing what I've been going through.

I can not for the life of me find a reasonably priced, 94-04 Cobra/GT (avoiding 96-98 GTs though). The few I have found had rotted out strut towers, title problems, general disarray for the price, etc.

It's frustrating to say the least, because I've been looking actively for the last two months. Is it me, or are the dime a dozen 79-04 cars starting to die off?

I kind of noticed that as well. I was shocked I was one of very few decent New Edges on Carguru. What's your budget? Mine is for sale.

Yeah the cars are getting older and now turning into rust buckets unless extensively cared for...

However why would you avoid the 96-98 GTs when they are better than the 94-95 GTs? It kind of makes no sense lol...

I know a guy selling a clean supercharged true blue new edge GT for 8500.

You might have to get one that needs some work. Got my 33k mile Mach 1 with a busted engine, partially disassembled (missing parts), paint issues, and an ugly interior for 3 grand.

Pick your poison.

Sounds like how I got mine but with a lot less miles. I got my Mach with a blown motor for $1800 and 133k on the odo.

15 years ago, fox-bodies were a dime a dozen. I bought one for $1400 in '04. Now they're how much?

Same is happening with SN95s. For every one nice SN95 that I see, I see 10 that are junked out weed-transportation-mobiles with failing clearcoat and plasti-dipped wheels.

See the shocking part to me is I noticed a ton of people will mention passively in posts or wherever that they have a car for sale. But in looking on forums/facebook/wherever, it's hard to find them.

I think the listings/marketplace is jacked up largely thanks to the watered down/non centralized locations to advertise. It amazes me but a ton of cars are on FB that arent on the marketplace, or Craigslist.

I'm in the 5k range. Which should be doable for a car that old that needs love. I don't expect a garage queen nor do I really want one for that sort of money.

I’m in the same boat OP, but more looking for a fox project. One in the 4-6k range that isn’t a complete pos that’s rusted out or has blown motor. Every time i find one I’m a day to late.

I would even consider a sn95 but i want a 94-95. Had my fill with everything else.

This is the truth.... been on the fence with mine a few times over the years.
I have about 50k for miles on mine and it is about as clean as they come.
But been getting the itch for a convertible to enjoy with the family.[/QUOTE]

Yours is definitely in the upper echelon of well-maintained SN95s. I'd hold onto that thing and in a few years it'll be like when you see a NICE Fox-body rolling down the road.

Makes me really wish I had kept my '00 GT when it had the stock motor and KB 2.1. I could still be DD'ing that thing.

My buddy is selling a mint 95 GT. My area for some reason always has some really nice cars. We have like 10-15 Terminators in the area and it's not that big of an area.
