Centri or turbo?

This for an 03 cobra. Really simple question, which of these would be less strain on internals and drive train for a higher horse power build on stock motor internals. Centri or turbo? Not wanting to exceed 700whp.

I'm assuming this is for a 03/04 cobra? Or are you asking about a 96 cobra? No boost setup is going to stress the terminator internals at 700rwhp. Get a good tune so that you don't fry a piston and you won't have any issues. With a turbo you'll make hp easier. The torque from a turbo does put more strain on the motor than a centri setup, but again not a concern with a terminator. 96 cobra stock internals you're done at 500rwhp.

It is a 03 cobra.I want to stick with pump but am open to e85 or meth. I also can get a killer deal on both a 2650 or 2300 vmp

What's your skillset like? I'm a centri guy and miss my F1A at times. When I looked into a turbo for my 01 it seemed that custom was the best way to go. So you either need to be good at fabricating or have deep pockets.

I agree with you Bob. Based on the question; I would say using an 03/04 Cobra and with a goal of 700HP a supercharger is the best route. I have always "heard" turbo's are more efficient and can make more power, but it would be a lot more work to install a turbo.

So, I vote supercharger in this case.............

I had a vmp tvs 2.3 and it was a blast. Sold that and went with a Hellion single turbo gen2 7675. The turbo is a blast and the car now is a completely different animal. Cant wait to run e85 and turn it up. All i did to the Hellion kit was go blow thru from the draw thru set up. Debating on going auto now. Definitely be more fun with an auto.

I think a whipple or TVS would be more fun on the street. Way too much work to go turbo for a goal of 700. Sound would be amazing tho lol

juiced46 already listed what needs to be done to convert the 03 cobra to a centri and make it run the right way. Bolting on the off the shelf prochager won't work. Its been done and people removed it. I know the lower intake HAS to be changed bc it was designed for a positive displacement power adder. setup properly, a centri car will be fast. extremely, fast.

You only want 700rwhp. I wouldn't waste my money on turbo or a centri swap.
