A local salvage yard has the combine tossed by a tornado in the movie. Sorry for the small pic it's the only one I found online.

That’s pretty cool. First movie I ever saw in a theater when I was a kid. Still one of my favorites. Such a classic!
I was in a theater in 1996 in South Africa to watch another movie when the Twister trailer played in the previews. I thought how cool is that?! I then wanted to watch Twister instead of the movie I was going to see but had to wait a few weeks for it to arrive. The opening sequence was pretty scary the first time I saw it with the sound effects blasting at full volume. I would not want to be caught in a twister like that. South Africa will occasionally get a tornado but nothing as extreme as the USA. The Midwest is ground zero as far as tornadoes go. There was a F4 in SA in 1999 that claimed 25 lives.

not at my post...
The first time I saw it I thought it was great! I like to watch it every few years but the novelty has worn off.

We get them here in Texas more than any other state. I have a lot of family in Oklahoma, Kansas and Tennessee as well. Those areas get hit pretty damn hard too. My cousin Charlie got sucked out his truck(back glass blew out) and thrown into a ditch, it was at night and he had no idea he was driving into a tornado. He must have a lucky rabbits foot up his ass as he survived with serious injuries, the truck was absolutely flattened. He eventually recovered.

Love the movie, but hate the intro.

Made me freak out as a kid/early teen when a tornado warning would pop up.

Edit, didn't Twister come out in 96?

Yes it did. I was in high school and stayed over a buddies house most weekends. We put that movie on every night to fall asleep. I know most of the dialogue, or did
