A buddy of mine has a 99 GT that he's trying to get some history on. Apparently it has all the 35th anniversary badging, but it's painted the electric green. He's pulled fender liners and the paint is the same color under there. So it hasn't been repainted. One of the stories he got was that it was built for a rental company. Would a Carfax show that? Or is there another kind of report that can be run? I have the VIN if anyone is curious.

not sure anymore
All 99s had the 35th badging.
No 35th Anniversary Specials came in Green...to my knowledge.
Hope this helps a bit...

All 99's (and 04) had anniversary badging.

Anniversary edition option gave silver-insert seats, unique skirts, and 01+ style scoops and spoiler.

Referring to New-Edge [99-04], I never hear of a "GT" being ordered for a rental fleet.

Every New-Edge Mustang [99-04] that I got as a rental were V6 & automatics...both in coupe & convertible...

It might've been an upgrade. I had a 94 Trans Am that was a prior rental. But it wasn't the top of the line T/A.

So it sounds like it's just a GT with the Electric Green paint. It had some hail damage and they were hoping it was a little more rare to be able to get it fixed.

If he really wants a break down on the car, tell him to get a Marti report. It'll show who the original purchaser was (dealer wise) and the break down by paint and paint/trim (as well as drivetrain and some other stuff)
