@treynor the senna is on trofeo R’s right?
Do you plan on running slicks? The cup car was hauling ass.
The Senna was on its stock Trofeo R tires. I might put it on something stickier like Cup 2R tires for a record setting run at some point.

As promised:
- Setting the production car lap record at Thermal:

- a chase car view of another record lap at Thermal:

- Chasing down a well-driven Porsche GT3 Cup car at Laguna Seca:

The Senna is hands down the fastest street car I've ever driven on the track. Absolutely amazing.
Is that not more than 30 seconds better than the previous best street car lap time?

About 3 sec / lap , the config was different in the 918 test.

You may have stated this already, what were your times at LS? Did you have to lift anywhere for noise regs? So impressive the machine and driving!
Mid 1:29s , unfortunately it rained the night before and the track was still wet in some key spots and very green.

Was that Cup car uncorked? Or were you not putting your foot to the floor? It looked like it was eating your lunch even on the straights.

Never over estimate horsepower on a roadcourse... And never underestimate the exit speed of a race car on slicks vs literally any street tire. A 10mph exit difference is massive

It had about 525 HP, which is more than stock. However, the difference you're seeing is entirely the exit speed differential. On the long straights I'm reeling him in; at the end of the video you can hear me lift to avoid running into him over the crest :)

Great car! Great driving! Congratulations on earning the new record.

At some point in that lap did you "feel" you would get the record?

I didn't know what the records were at Thermal until after the session. I knew I had driven pretty well, though for Thermal there was more to be had since the car was loose in several spots.

The real challenge will be Randy's 1:28.3 at Laguna. I'm convinced I can better that time too, but it'll take good track conditions and fresh tires for me to do it.

Its fricken amazing that randy was able to do that in a manual car (Viper ACR). You prob know Darius Khashabi (another bay area dude). He was there the day after and saw a dumpster full of kumho tires. LOL they dialed that car in and used a ton of kumhos.

Are the wheels on the senna light? I think you can eclipse that time with the senna, slicks should get you there.
