Hello, checking to see if a nGauge is worth the $200 more than an X4. I really like the nGauge but if I were to save that $200 I could put that towards other mods (potentially).
I'm going with Lund for the tune and these prices are based on prices from Lethal Performance.

Thanks

I’m thinking about getting the Boss intake manifold too. Not sure if that requires a tune or not.

Yes. Ease of use, faster, easy data logging, and you can log boost as well if you get a boost box. Doesn't brick or crash like SCT devices. You can find HPT Ngauges for about 300 - 350 and Lund Ngauges for the same price as well. Difference between the 2 is the HPT allows you to use who ever you want that uses HPT software and Lund Ngauge is only usable with Lund tunes.

Where have you seen a hpt ngauge for 300-350? I haven't seen one close to that price.

I just don't use facebook. sct x4's seem to always be cheap. I'll have to add a ngauge to my black friday purchase list. Thanks though.

Update: Got a hptuner ngauge so my local tuner could tune. $400 was the best i found new.

Check with Signature Speed since you're in NC. Anthony Ballard and his team are an awesome group of guys and pump out some fast cars! They use Palm Beach Dyno for tuning. He can set you up with an HPT Nguage if you want to buy new.

For those with the nGauge, how did you mount it, with the vent clip mount or the windshield mount?

I would go with the ngauge all day long.. love mine came with a blower kit I recently purchased. Makes sending logs and loading tunes a breeze. I have a second gauge I am willing to part with. It is married but lund unlocks for free once you purchase a tune.

I got the nGauge and tune from Lund, but have yet to load the tune. I played around with the nGauge for about 10 mins then went back inside. For some reason I just have never really felt this car. Haven't cared to do anything with it, I don't even drive it. The wife is not to happy, I spent all this money and it's just sitting on the passengers seat. I tried telling her I didn't really want the nGauge but she insisted. She really likes this car, she said it's her favorite Mustang we've ever had.
It has some issues I'm not happy with. Under the front area of the car, all that plastic is tore up, I've had to cut pieces away so it doesn't vibrate the floor board. It's thrown check engine lights multiple times.
I used to eat, sleep and drink everything Mustang. When I first started out in my mid 20's, (97 GT, 2000 GT, 01 Cobra), the Mustang was kind of down on the HP, but I stayed true to the team. Went overseas for 6 yrs, came back and the 5.0 was out, but now in my 40's, I can't help but feel betrayed by Ford.
Dodge has always been good to me, I've had Dodge vans, I have a Ram truck, we have a Jeep Wrangler. I would like to get a Challenger but I'll stay with the Mustang since my wife likes it so much.
I'm trying to get that passion for Mustangs back, just having a hard time right now : (

You have to do what works for you. I am tempted to trade in my 2011 Vert towards a 2018 GT w PP. Wife doesnt want me to but I am at the point of needing more power and figure the $10k for turbos or a supercharger might make the 2018 cheap enough.
