So my brother and I finally started the process of swapping my ported eaton to the 2.3 VMP blower I have had sitting in my closet since February.

But as usual, we ran into some problems. Not with blower but with the dragon tb and plenum. So since I have VMP's plenum, I have to use the IAC location on the side of the plenum rather than the location underneath the throttle body due to clearance of the IAC. This is fine with me since the person I bought the parts from gave me the adapter plate that I can use to use the side location. However, this creates two issues; one is that there is no way i am going to be able to connect the throttle position sensor plug since it is right next to the IAC fitting (see pictures below). I assume I can't just turn the throttle position sensor so that connector is facing the other way, or can I? This leads me to my second issue, where the heck is the fitting coming off the IAC adapter supposed to plug into? Am I going to have to drill a hole in my intake or is there a part I am missing?
I have provided pics below to show some of the issues as well as the progress we made. We didn't want to spend the whole day working on the car since we wanted to take the boat out and do some fishing since we both had the day off. We are so close to getting this done and then moving on to tuning. Can't wait to see what a difference the new blower makes!

Can't you just flip the iac spacer 180 to get the elbow on the drivers side.

Looks like I just needed to flip and rotate the IAC plate and rotate the fitting for it to clear the TPS. I didn't think both of the sides of the plate had orings but luckily they do. That just leaves me with my last question, where does the brass colored L fitting from the IAC plate go? Do I need to drill into in intake and run a hose to the fitting? I dont know exactly what the IAC is supposed to do so I am not sure if location is important when selecting a place to drill....

Yep, you need to drill into the intake after the mass air flow meter. The iac (idle air control valve) is what controls the car idle. Since the dragon throttle body doesn't have a port bored into it that will bypass air past the throttle plate like the stock one and the gt500, it had to pull air before the throttle body.

If you look on top of the elbow that your dragon is bolted to, you can see where the IAC would mount normally.

The iacs job is to let air bypass the throttle blade. So you must be hooked to the intake on both sides of the blade, but before the blade needs to be after the maf so its metered air.

Thanks guys! Sucks I gotta drill into my intake, but that's what I get for not forking up the extra money for the GT500 TB. Are the dragon TBs tougher to tune because of the IAC location and the modding you need to do to get it to work? I know it's too late now but I just wanna see what I am up against, or rather my tuner lol

I had a dragon tb on my tvs setup and had no issues with tuning due to it. I eventually switched to the gt500 setup, but never had any dyno or track numbers with it to see the difference between the 2.

Theses cars have been around for years along with the Dragon throttle body. No need to worry about tuning issues, because there is plenty of info out there on these cars.

Where did you have your IAC located? Any pics of your dragon setup?

Off subject O.P., but who do you plan on having tune your car?

Good choice! He tunes my car when I converted to E85.

I've heard nothing but great things about his tunes, so I figured since I dont have the time to set up an appointment to take it to get it dynotuned at a shop, i would have him tune it. I would have liked some hp and tq numbers but that can come later.

I'll have to get my old phone out, which is 2 hours from me now, to find pics. I had the same setup as you. I believe that my brass 90 was pointed up and the line ran to the side of my JLT intake. I may have run it down and run the vacuum line from the 90 under the inlet and over. Cant remember for sure, but I'm thinking that I have pics of it.

Found it. Guess it was in my cloud. Looks like I had the 90 pointed down and had the plug facing out instead of in. It worked that way, so there is that.

So the TPS would still function normally if you flip it 180? I wasn't sure about that, but I guess there wouldnt be a reason for it not to work that way. I might flip it back around to how you have it and just turn my TPS sensor. That way i can run the hose under my intake rather than over the top.

It made 670 wheel and saw 138 mph trap speeds set up that way. Idled and ran fine for me.

Pump gas for now. I hope to go E85 before the end of the year. I need to research fuel systems and everything that comes along with it. Fuel, parts, and the terminology is something I know little about.
