Are you sure? The manual, unless they changed it, said up to 1qt per 500 miles was considered normal. I’ve not seen any replaced that were above that threshold. Did they change the criteria?

I have not seen that, all I can attest to is my experience. When i got my GT350 out this spring and it was using oil so I took it to the dealer and the started logging it. I put about 3k miles on it while they were logging it and adding the oil themselves. It was using just over a qt to 1.9 qts per 1k miles. based on that they are replacing the engine. Should get it back this week.
This can apply if your racing the car, not if you just normally driving the car on the street.
From the 2019 GT350 Owners Manual Supplement - Page 54
"You can drive high performance vehicles in such a way that may lead to higher oil consumption (this includes extended time at high engine speeds, high loads, engine braking, hard cornering maneuvers, and track use). Under these conditions, oil consumption of approximately 1 quart per 500 miles (1 liter per 800 km) is possible. As a result, you need to check the engine oil level at every refueling and adjust to maintain proper levels to avoid engine damage."
Your cars oil use of 1 to 1.9 quarts per 1k is not 1 quart per 1k btw....

What i was curious about was if they changed the criteria for replacement. They had to wait until my car was under the 500 miles/1 qt threshold before they could authorize a new long block, whether it was on track or not. I was curious if they had changed it...looks like they have not.
may as well get them to order a second motor hahahahha, youll need it, I was in your shoes a little while ago. My court ordered award is posted below. ii. The Manufacturer denies any liability for the failure to replace the oil cap which
resulted in oil loss.

oil at time intervals suggested by the Manufacturer for this high performance
engine that uses oil in its operation.
There is no dispute between the Consumer and the Manufacturer on the following matters:
1. The warranties are still in force
2. The Manufacturer replaced two engines and in fact spent $53,000 on warranty work
on this Vehicle
3. Due to a change in ownership the Consumer did not receive an information bulletin
from the Manufacturer that addressed:
a- Tightening the oil filter assembly to 16-18 foot pounds using a special cap
wrench which they provided with the bulletin
b. Their recommendation to check the oil level at every reffieling as during
operation under certain conditions ( high engine speeds, high loads, engine
braking, hard cornering and track use) oil consumption of approximately I
litre per 800 kilometre is possible.
Conclusion:
For all of these reasons, I find in favour of the Consumer in this case.
Order:
I now order as follows:
The Manufacturer shall buy - back the Vehicle at a price of $57,532.49. The buy-back
shall take place in accordance with section 6.1.5 of the Agreement for Arbitration and
I shall remain responsible for case until the buy - back is completed.

Hmm... So a $60K car that the manufacturer knows burns excessive oil does not have a low oil level indicator? Makes perfect sense.

Update: I finally put 1k miles on the car since the last oil consumption test... burned 3 quarts. This is the 2nd test they have done. Dealer is going to ping Ford again about a new motor.
I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t take no for an answer. Adding 15qts in a 5k oil change interval is unacceptable and the new motors seem to be holding up well.

The service manager seemed pretty confident that Ford is going to send me a new motor. I am a little concerned because during the first test, the request was made and Ford wanted two more done.

Supposedly the very late 18’s and all 19’s have some minor upgrades in conjunction with the upcoming 2020 GT500, since they share the same block.
Has anyone at Ford fessed up as to where the oil is being lost??

Yea, several fantastic upgrades, but I'm curious if the oil issues have been solved.
I had to take the car to the dealer for pictures... of what, I dunno. Otherwise still waiting on words.
I was told today that Ford authorized the motor replacement and they are getting everything on order. I wish there was some way of tracking this online.

Hopefully everything works out. You guys got me super worried. I just put down a deposit on a 17 grabber blue no stripes with 13k miles. Will keep a eye on my oil. Or should I just go to a Ford dealer and see if it has issues. The build date was dec. 2016 so the one bumper to bumper will be done. I still have one more year on powertrain. Been thinking if I should get an extended warranty soon.
powertrain is 5yr/60k i believe, so you have more than a year for the big stuff.
