I'm about to start gathering the parts to put A/C back in the car. Since it's become difficult to find an actual replacement condenser that is correct for the 98 model year, is there any reason I can't install all the components from a 99-04 car? It would be all the lines, condenser and dryer. I don't see why it wouldn't work, just figured I would ask and see if anyone has done this before.

Yeah, those aren't the correct ones. I've ordered them before and they aren't the same.

The top one they show is actually for 99+ cars. It has the different style connections on the condenser. I can find those all over the place along with the correct lines. The one in the picture on the bottom is the correct style, but when I ordered it, the one that showed up was similar to the one above it.

Dude. I literally threw all my ac stuff away like two years ago thinking no one would ever want it

Yeah, I tossed out everything except my compressor and a couple lines. Decided to put it all back in and figured I would just order new parts, it's turning out to be more difficult than I thought it would. I'm half tempted to just get a condenser that I know will fit and then have some custom lines fabricated to work.

I wonder what’s different between 97 and 98. I bet the mounting points are the same, maybe just different hose connections. The move might be to back date everything to the 97.

1999 has the same type of problem. The hoses were redesigned in 2001 and no parts for the 1999. Trick was to get the 2001 manifold that connects and comes off the ac compressor and new set of hoses from 2001. The manifold takes the hoses off in different angles than the 1999. I havent put mine in yet..so....

The situation may be the same for you folks..

This is what I have so far:
2000-2004 Mustangs have a completely new set of part numbers

format: oem #--> UAC aftermarket #

1. AC suction (accum to comp) YF2635-->HA10382C
2. Liquid (condenser to evap) YF2847-->HA11178C
3. AC discharge (compressor to condenser) YF2952-->No replacement (EDIT: 3/29/17)
4. Compressor manifold YF2634-->56071

I use the kits from discount a.c. parts for the accumulator and compressors.

So, I ordered all the parts for a 03-04 Mach 1, hopefully it works out. Total cost was 568 bucks using Motorcraft parts. Could have saved a little bit using other brands, but whatever. Should have everything in the next couple days, but don't think I'll get around to installing all of this until the winter time when I take care down for other upgrades.

After I finish the motor mounts, oil gasket and cooler seals, along with ball joints, I should be putting mine in "soon"
Our blocks are the same; so it may be useful to you to know how mine goes...?.
Please Keep us posted.

I run the Modular Boss50 block, so it's different than the Teksid, but I would think that the mounting points for everything is the same.

Subscribing. Please update this when you get everything ironed out.

This has been on my list to do for some time. I've been hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve me having to make custom lines, but I've modified the mounting location of the radiator, and with all of the turbo piping, I'm not confident...

I just replaced my non tsb condenser in my 96 with one from a newer car with the bolt on connection. Bolted up fine and connections connected with no issues. Just an fyi. I don't know specifics on the year or part number but it does fit and was a different style than my factory one.

Do you have pictures of the connections of the lines at the condenser? My original lines are push on connections and wouldn't connect to the newer style condenser, so i just ordered newer style everything.
