I saw one of those at Tasca Ford in 2007- "40th Edition." Thought it was some dealer add-on emblem or something.

I think Quantum Performance was the Shelby Authorized Mod Shop in Dallas. They did a few upfits (40th’s and SuperSnake’s) along with Tasca in Rhode Island before they went belly up. They over extended themselves and the builds towards the end suffered. They went bankrupt and before Shelby could make claim on the parts inventory a bunch of the “exclusive parts” slipped out the back door, including some of the csm badges. Caused an uproar at the time among owners. The builds from Quantum tend to garner less money due to all the drama but it’s still a really nice car and with only 312 built and only 38 black coupes it is rare.

As a Shelby owner, could not care less about anything but the fact its a GT500, and that it has a legendary Carroll Shelby autograph.

I dont buy into the special "production" run nonsense unless its a GT500 based Super Snake or Shelby 1000. A bone stock GT500 with special badges means nothing. Only that Carroll Shelby signature does. Otherwise its a GT500 in a model year where they made 10,000 units.

Its a beautiful car, dont get me wrong. But stock car except for badges? Id rather spend that money on a 2011+ and mod.

Do not forget it has a tower brace and different color valve covers. That has got to be worth at least $20k.
I do like the paint scheme.
