The way the firefighter and the control room engineer dies OMFG.... Skin was pure puss from head to toe.

I forget how old the control room engineer said he was, but did you see the look of the nuclear physicist face when he said... 24yrs old or whatever he was at the time...

Yeah he said he was 25 and radiation sickness has to be one of the worst ways to die.

They were qualified engineers but the safety test was supposed to be run during the day when the more senior/experienced engineers were on duty. However, they didn't want to interupt the power output for Kiev.

I'm impressed with the first 3 episodes so I'll dfinitely keep watching. I was a young teenager when Chernobyl blew up and it has always intrigued me.

Nope. Just stating for others, that are looking to get something for free, that perhaps the right thing to do is to pay for HBO. Anyways...sorry to derail the thread.

I think I speak for all of us when I say circumventing HBO to watch their Chernobyl miniseries isn't what will land us in jail or Hell. LOL

Or HBO loses so much money they stop making original series and just play movies like they did 20+ years ago.

Well fortunately for HBO the quality of subscribing to the channel still far outweighs watching a copy online so they face no serious threat, but sometimes when you are struggling financially and cant justify an HBO subscription, or even cable subscription for that matter, then it is nice to be able to still catch all the shows somewhat and keep up with what is going on. Luckily I can afford cable with HBO now but for 2 years I couldn't afford either one.

Just finished episode 4, brining in another aspect made this a lot darker.

A lousy detail to be assigned to, and totally unnecessary. How a guy comes through that without being a raging alcoholic, I don’t know.

One other observation: the opening scene: Communism and Socialism somehow have a knack for identifying the most petty, blindly-following rules, officious pricks; and promoting them into places of power over everyday citizens. Marxism is very good at two things: finding assholes to run the state, and filling mass graves.
