I am researching different trim levels so that i can narrow my search down for when I buy a mustang next year. I am having trouble finding out if there are any real advantages to getting the performance pack gt vs a standard one. I know the pp cars come with different gears, a bit different suspension and brakes. I can not find if they are actually faster than a standard gt. I was hoping someone here had some knowledge on this.

The PP mustang GT is not faster than a non PP car. 100% certain of this as I have a 2016 PP. Even though they're not faster, they have the Brembo brakes, Michelin Sport summer only tires and 19 inch wheels. It also has some suspension upgrades but the magnaride suspension is not standard on the PP (it is an added cost). I love the PP wheels, but I'm biased.

Are you thinking of a 2018+ Mustang or a 2015-17? As you know, in 2018 they increased the GT's HP number to 460 from 435 in the 15-17's.

Thanks for the info!

I am looking between 2012 to 2017. I am buying in may of 2020 so i am just trying to narrow it down. My choice will most be limited by whats available for sale then. But so far i have been drawn to mostly the N/A cars. not much for superchargered cars in my area. a few 12 gt 500's, but they go quick. A couple of 15+ rs3 cars have popped up and one yellow label supercharged auto Saleen. For the money i want to spend ( between 30k to 40k) I have found a nice boss 302 or 15+ pp gt. Just wanted to make sure the pp was worth the extra cash. The car will be a nice day back road blaster, so cornering is a bit higher priority than straight line.

i just payed 31k 2 months ago for a premium performance pack 18 GT with 700 miles from a dealership, now i do understand that its slim to none to find a deal like what i got but there are good deals out there. try using autotempest to find the vehicle
