mustangs are cheap guys lol... what do you expect. The GT500's pre 13/14 just sell for 28-36k from average ones to minty ones.

Terminators are even cheaper. Best value for a street car IMHO.

That seems like the right place for that car currently. S197 (even KR's), are not enjoying any appreciation, yet. 6K miles, while low, is high for the "low mile" category.

KRs would command much more money if Ford didn’t keep improving upon the 07+ GT500. The S197 GT500 was made for 8 years. They are not rare collectibles in any stretch of the imagination. Terminators were made for 2 years and specialty versions like Mystichrome and 10th anniversary models were only 1-year cars. 07+ GT500s are fun, but simply not rate.

I see several of the same low mileage KRs pop up on ebay constantly where they are asking at or near original sticker. They never sell. This is closer to a fair price for the car.

The price is still rich. for $10k more you can have a very nice 13/14 which is WAY more car. This is not a collectible IMO.

93 Cobra prices have been rising rapidly! When I switched to Hagerty insurance recently, they gave me price guides for my cars based on sales they track. I was floored at the price they gave me for my 93. My other cars came in at prices I expected. The 93 Cobras have been hot and the Teal Metallic examples have been at the top of the prices.

No complaints from me, just shock.

Oh Canada!
Was $36k the out the door price or would there be additional auction fees on top of that price?

Prices plus buyer fees.

That 93 was really nice in person! Worth every penny imo.

The thing about those KRs and whatnot right now is that they’ve been eclipsed so fast by the newer cars on performance and everyone that bought one new kept it as an investment type idea... turns out they’re not all that now so prices are down.

I'm not someone who watches the market, but as a Mustang enthusiast, I would say unless it's a 13/14 Shelby it's not really desirable when it comes to Shelby's.

I think the 03/04 Cobras are desirable. The Fox bodies seem to be rising in collectability. However, I think it's due in part that finding a good one is getting very difficult. A lot of crappy Fox bodies out there.

I wonder what the trend will be with the Shelby KR stuff, besides the very expensive/hard to get body work it’s just the same shit anyone else can order and bolt into their car.

I always thought calling this car the "king of the road" was a joke as it was anything but.

They were a bump-up and cool when they came out, but were eclipsed quickly thereafter. Someone who buys into the Shelby American hype might find extra value in the KRs, but I’m more of an SVT/Ford Performance fan.
