Get ready for ADMs that push the first retail cars to the 100K range. After digesting this car's specs combined with a few anecdotes it's clear this thing is gonna break the internet. Ford is soft-pedaling a "mid-3" 0-60, unless they're going super conservative on the launch control to protect the trans. I think bottom 3s 0-60 are more realistic, even with the 250-ish pound weight gain. 134-137 hero-run traps in the quarter depending on DA . With no limiter this thing would top out in the 210-ish range. The braking distances from 60 are going to be very similar to a 720S (93 feet). I'm sure the laptimes will be astounding for the price range.

As much as I hate to say it the DCT is a game-changer. Expect a whole different type of buyer to snatch these things up with no regard to ADM. We should expect supercar buyers to be in the mix for this thing. A bad sign for ADMs.

You make some valid points but it’s still too early to know for sure what buyers will be lining up for the GT500 with the DCT change. As well as what dealers will do as far as ADMs. Dealership greed will be factor, for sure.

"IF" the GT350R was any indication when they first came out,...............the new GT500 will be outrageously expensive.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I'm willing to bet that most of them get marked up because they know that people with the money to afford it with the adm, want to be the first ones to get their hands on one.

It's definitely not too early to tell.

These things are going to bring all the money.

For sure many dealers will add adms more than ones at sticker. Being able to have patience and call around etc could go a long way. Even if a dealer requests you to pay the Shelby fee or split it, that is more reasonable to understand than just adding on extra $$.

Why is it unreasonable to charge what the market will bear? Why is a dealer who charges ADMs greedy, but buyers who expect a dealer to pass up thousands of dollars (that could help put one of the dealer's kids through college, for example) not greedy?

From you, whom I respect, that means a ton.
Well man, as someone whose owned a MG Cobra, I know you have good taste :)
I see no way we will be disappointed in this car. I currently drive one of the best automatic trans in the game (Hellcat ZF A8). And I’m thinking 400-500# less mass, more power and more brakes, plus this class first DCT equals a winning package.
The guy I talked to lives local and walked out with 3 Ford Racing Sparco driving suits, so I’m inclined o believe him when he says it’d be a keeper car for him.

Sadly a base C8 will probably blow it away with no ADM.
Don’t be too sure. Will the c8 be faster than the current z06 or zr1? I doubt it. Will it compete vs those two I would suspect it be just short. With the c8 z high above the current top vettes. But this is probably another year out.

We might be getting slightly ahead of ourselves comparing it to the 720S lol.

Maybe close to the 570 is some areas.

I would wildly guess it’s somewhere south of the current Ford GT performance capabilities. The 4,000+ lbs it will be carrying around will keep it out of truly elite territory IMO.

It would be absolutely absurd to compare this to a McLaren straight up. That's why I said "Poor Man's McLaren" because this thing will be the closest you can get for under 100K sticker price. I think the 720S is probably the best overall value performance car period, despite the 300K pricetag. It nips at the heels of 1M hypercars.

Back when I had my 2014 Shelby and I went down to Mexico for some early AM high-speed runs I shifted from 4th to 5th at 6500 and just depressing the clutch at 160-ish on sectioned concrete was a harrowing experience. A perfectly smooth road or runway no big deal but sectioned concrete was scary. So there are certainly a number of advantages to the DCT with its barely perceptible shifts and corresponding near-continuous power delivery.

Watching the Dragtimes Ford GT and McLaren racing videos online where those cars have no trouble beating higher horsepower vehicles with traditional autos or manuals is a real eye-opener.

Lol what is this lame response? It is greedy because this is no limited production run by any means, so there fore many if not at release or next year just like the 350 will be able to get these at or under msrp.
