So this could potentially be beating a dead horse but Google didn't answer my questions. I'm looking at switching to a vented CC setup versus the JLT sealed cans I currently have. Car isn't wild by any means, KB 3.6 with 4" pulley on 91 octane. I guess I mainly want to know the negatives of this, is it changing anything in the way the car runs? Will the tune need to be updated? Any other info will be much appreciated. Thanks

You could be introducing unmetered air into the engine if it's vented to atmosphere. You will need to block off the supercharger side and the CAI side inlets. I've not done this, and it might come with idle issues.

Well the supercharger and intake holes would be plugged. Just wasn't sure if venting the crankcase would mess with vacuum or if the absence of the oil vapor would effect it negatively

I recently added this to my car. I had a similar Peterson breather can that vented from the lid, but it would draw in fumes into the car when the HVAC wasn't on recirculate, so I changed over to this style can, and ran the hose down under the car. So far it has worked well, and no fumes in the car.

Thanks for the input. I didn't even consider the fumes especially since the can would be venting near the cabin intake.

You'd get real tired of the stench......keep the PCV system intact and use a sealed CC in it if you wish.......just my $0.02!!

I use the gen 2 jlt on both sides and vent and merge them into a single hose on the passenger side to down under the body, dumping just past the crossmember (zip tie away from hot stuff). No smell, no idle issues. If it is pulling air back in, it's pulling through about 6 feet of hose, 2 catch cans, and a crank case (Plug off the blower and TB ports). That's a lot of headloss to get through, whereas path of least resistance says the intake is much easier to suck through.
Only drawback I see is emissions and the loss of lighter oil constituents.
Oh, and trims are at 0.
