I meant to comment on this before but forgot. Some of it was the Mad King's left behind but Cersei had more made in season 2. I think the dragon attacking was setting off what was left behind.

She had a bunch made for sure.
Can’t really remember but maybe that was all for the battle where they blew up the ships in the bay and then the building full of Tyrells and priests.

I think everything under the city was Aerys’.

Regardless, I felt the slaughter by Danarys and her soldiers was pretty crazy.

I'm convinced some of you would find something to bitch and moan about regardless of how the show went down.

Lol
Disagree. This isn't rocket science. The production quality and writing are absolutely garbage. The only thing covering that up is the budget and outstanding performances of the actors.

I bet you thought Last Jedi was amazing as well.

I don't pretend to be an expert when it comes to cinematography or writing for that matter. I'm simply here to be entertained. If I make it through the show/movie I'm watching without checking my phone to see if it is almost over then that's good enough for me.

Some of you clearly chose the wrong profession considering all your expertise in writing and film making.

I havent complained about a damn thing the entire series, has been almost entirely epic and this one episode actually ruined it. I consider myself one of the easiest going when it comes to TV/movie critiquing but this was just too vast of a fail. Cersei dies from rocks caving in...? **** outta here (in my best Andrew Dice voice)

I certainly would have liked to see Cersei get a harsher death considering the shit she did throughout the series, but it doesn't ruin all of it for me.

I did grin as she was blubbering like a baby about not wanting to die.

I think they one thing that should have taken longer to play her transformation into the Mad Queen. Literally within a couple days she went from sweetheart to villain. Hell they could have played this season out with the white walkers then started her transformation an entire season.

So very true. Unclear to me why the show was cut -- likely lots of stuff we don't know or care about from a business perspective.

But, IMO, the Night King needed more. "Winter is coming" has been the black cloud, overarching storyline from the beginning, and it resolved too fast and anti-climatically.

And, as you note, the Dragon Queen's deterioration should have taken at least a full season.

Agreed. Whole season feels rushed.

I'm also not convinced that the storyline shouldn't have been reversed . . . Dragon Queen vs. Lanisters first, then move on to the Night King.

Again ... "Winter is Coming" has been the black cloud hanging the whole series while all the politics of squabbling men play out. Feels like the real threat was handled already, and then they have circled back to just another human battle over power.

I thought "winter is coming" was literally the season is coming. I thought it was irrelevant to the knight king. Because, the older guys in the show say how the last winter lasted 7 years or something and that this one will be longer.

I always interpreted this to mean more than the weather. That it was about the White Walkers and the complete upheaval of life as they knew it because of the constant threat of eradication.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't think the arching storyline would be only about dropping temperatures.
