I'm surprised a hard reset didn't work, as it should have put you back to factory.

That's a tough issue to resolve! My suggestion is to take it to a Ford dealer and have them diagnose and fix it. Other than that, no suggestions that haven't already been tried.

Ford dealership is out of the question? You never responded to my suggestion. If a dealership is available, why not let them diagnose your system and (hopefully) fix it?

There is a Dealership here that is specialised in USA cars, I takey car to them every year for service.

I will tell them about my issue this week when I take my car for service and see what they can do.

I'm hoping with you that they'll quickly diagnose the issue and it won't be too expensive. Let us know how you make out.

Carson...Bob from Detroit...I have a 2011 GT 500 with NAV and I have had the same problems. I have tried everything. I have a buddy who is a high level engineer at Ford HQ - he brought me a USB with new updated software. It only helped slightly. I believe (my own guess) that there is a a module buried under the console that is faulty. I say this because I can't even get the line in feature to work. The software is fine, it's a hardware issue. Ford knows they had a problem in some of these units. I am not sure what to do either...it's frustrating.

Do you still have this problem?
Did you manage update with the usb?

Because I have tried updating mine with the USB but nothing happens when I put the usb flash drive in to my car.

I actually never tried the line in AUX.

I also believe some hardware module from the Sync gave up, because I really tried everything and searched on internet.

Anyway I gave my car today to the service shop , and will see tommorow if they fixed it. They told that they will update Sync. But I don't know because from usb flash drive is impossible. Maybe they hook up laptop to my car and update it from that way.

Guys, I got my car back from service shop

They couldn't fix the Bluetooth on my car, they said APIM module probably dead. Need to order new module and change it.

But I will probably change to some android unit, I really can't live without Bluetooth

Any tips guys for new unit?

I have good news guys,

Service shop called me and said new Sync Module cost 770$ or used for 250$.

I told him to wait for my answer.

Looked on internet for Sync module removal (it's behind the glove box and very easy to remove).

I removed the module and took the part number and searched on internet and found one used here in Sweden for 120$ and bought it.

Today I installed it and everything works perfectly now

Only problem I have is to update the Sync version to 4.6. because it has 4.0 or something

After I put the usb flash drive and go to phone and advanced settings and click on install, after maybe 1-2 minutes it says installation complete, I did keep waiting another 40 minuter nothing happen.

Thanks einehund ,

I even got the update done to Sync version 4.6

I am so happy it's working now.

Don't need to reprogram the Sync module or anything like that.

Carson,

Bob from Detroit.... I followed your lead and bought a used APIM module. Installed it tonight and it works perfect.... solved my problems. Had to delete the previous user and sync my phone and I’m a happy camper! Thanks very much....your effort to post your story has helped me tremendously. Bless you....
