Weird fluid thing

So...with 17,500 miles I decided to swap to Amsoil transmission fluid.
Drained the stock fluid filled with new.
Here is the weird thing. I measured the fluid I drained and it was 3 quarts 6 oz. That is it.

Zero leaks to explain why the fluid was low.
Service manual calls for 4.17 quarts. I put in a little over 4 quarts of new Amsoil until the fill hole started to seep.

I never thought to check to see if the fluid was serviced correctly from the factory.

Just thought I would pass on to give ya something to worry about.
Take care

Nope. Fluid drained should have been at least close to the fluid added...correct? The only logical answer it was not fully serviced from the factory.
The Service Manual is simple. Drain the fluid from the drain plug, and put 4.17 quarts in the fill hole until fluid starts to seep out.

Only have about 50 miles on Her with the new stuff. It seems some what smoother but have been taking it easy on it. Want to let Her get used to the new juice before I try the hard 1-2 shift. Today when I head home from work after She is good and warmed up...going to see what happens. Going to install new shifter soon. Hate the 1-2 lockout.
