Sounds like you're getting alot more Truck for 4800. Put you cash down on the 19 and finance the rest for a year. Regardless, you'll still have more truck than me...lol. See ya on the F150 forums...(Shane803)

I had no idea an F150 could cost that much.

I like the “buy used” route. But I’m very cheap.
cheap and smart. Only a dumb ass would spend 60 grand on a truck. Unless said person is shitting $100 bills. Said person could have a bad ass sports car for 60 grand. And a shitty decent truck for $5000. But hey, that's just me.

That's not true.

OP, how long do you plan on keeping it?

60K isn't expensive for a Truck these days. Mine had a window sticker of 61K and it's not even an expensive truck. Hell some are over 100K easy. Raptor is 75K where they use to be just 55K a few years back. If I had to pick between my Truck and my Mustang, bye bye Mustang. Mustang is just a toy...no way I would be without a Truck. Mostly opinion I guess.....I only shit out 50's..$600 Truck and $600 Mustang a month....the house is what gets me. :/

the answer is neither, the 18 and up f-150s have several issues that haven't been sorted out yet

twin panel moonroofs are known leakers and max trailer tow is an increasingly rare option. If money was no object id choose the 19 truck assuming i wanted to buy new

Do the trucks in question have a metal or plastic oil pan?

both the 3.5 ecoboost and the coyote for 18 and up have plastic oil pans. they are known leakers and at one point the EPA was having ford put actual diapers on the k-member from the factory, not sure if thats still happening. So much for "built ford tough"

Twin panel roof FTW.

Twin panel roofs are awesome but I seem to remember having to repair/replace the tracks on them pretty often when I worked at ford. And they were very expensive. Something like a grand whenever we had to fix them IIRC

I believe around mid 2018 builds + are now back to alum oil pans because so many trucks with the plastic were going in for work. This is at least on 3.5 eco trucks.

Initially I thought perhaps the 5.0 came with a real oil pan unlike the ecoboost motors but apparently not. To top it off, rtv was used rather than an actual gasket. While I am sure the numbers were low, spending 40-50k and not knowing you are running zero oil until it is too late (because it leaks right from the factory) is a big WTH.

Hell I drove mine off the lot and within a week it would not hold windshield wiper fluid. Why...because the hose was not attached so when I added more it went straight to the ground..lol
