i have a j2fab 7gal trunk tank with stewart emp pump along with the j2fab flow mod in my car. everything works as it should except i have leak out the vent on the tank. its not terrible but now that its inside the car i dont want coolant leaking inside. i lowered the water level a little but it still happens. has anyone experienced this? anyway to get a better vent on these tanks? any help would be appreciated. thanks

I have. He said to lower the water level and tilt the tank away from the vent. Done both and still have some seeping out.

What kind of vent are you running? I’ve recently heard about vent issues and guys having to run longer hoses with a rollover vent on them.

My tank has a vent on it and I’m planning on just seeing how it goes.

I have a custom ball valve with a breather filter on top. The ball blocks flow when fluid sloshes beneath it. Works great, never lose a drop. I used a ball used for chemistry beakers.

Capped tube with spring in bottom, ball on top of spring. Three holes drilled where the spring is located. One hole through the bottom (smaller diameter than the spring) and one cross hole through the tube. The spring prevents the ball from falling to the bottom and keeps it close to the blocked position. Keeping the ball up high also allows the fluid to drain back out easily. The ball seals against the inside of an an Barb fitting, there is an angle inside it seats against.

I used an assortment of an fittings. Been a while since I made it so I don't remember the exact part.

That style of vent will always leak. You will need to drill it out and use a rollover valve with a breather. I've had that setup on 2 different tanks and no leaks with either.

Troy you might have an issue no matter what vent you use because it is located right in front of the return port. That EMP is like a fire hose on the return side......may want to move that vent to the other side.

why would the vent be placed there? seems like a design flaw? I'm sure Justin will take care of it though.

This isn’t one of Justin’s tank, i picked it up used and agree on it being a design flaw. I have a fix for it and will give it a shot. The point is the rollover valve versus an air style relief valve.

Hopefully this is the fix. Roll over vent, 5/16" barb, 1' of hose and a breather. Will update with results.
Please ignore the wires and hoses running everywhere. Waiting till I know everything works right before I tidy it all up
