Got my seats out today and now taking the car apart to get the carpet out. So I can put the new carpet in. I need to use the old carpet as a guide for cutting holes in the new carpet.

I was able to pull the center console out over the brake by pulling it very tight and sliding it up and out towards the windshield.

If I did it again I would take the bolt out on the front of the e brake handle first. Here is a photo of the bolt. ,

It would make it a lot easier. Just remember the 2- 7mm bolts inside the console and it would lift enough to get a wrench on the e brake nut

Hey guys an update.

So it's interesting that the drivers seat lumbar is all air pumped from under the bottom of the seat. See photos

Four 12 mm bolts detach the frame, and a Phillips screwdriver takes the power attatchment

features off.

The air lines need to be disconnected to detach the top from the bottom.

You will also again need a torx bit (t45)see pic. The seat belt holder also needs a smaller torx (t27).

Hardest part is to take the headrest off. You need to pop out the tab and pull. It would be easier if had two people but the reason I say it's the hardest is I had only me at the time.

Lots of Staples (rings) attach the upholstery to the foam so I am definitely happy I bought new seat foam as it would be a pain to remove them one by one as well as it would hurt your hands to be holding pliers so tight.

Time to put it all back together....

More pictures. I checked my air bladders and they seemed ok. Had I do this again I probably would try to find a retailer for new ones on the power lumbar and such. If anyone knows where to aquire them or someone who makes them maybe they can chime in.

Also if you do yours maybe you want to have a can of spray paint. Under my seat everything was so rusty so I primed and painted it.

Hey guys a couple more pics in case anyone ever does this to maybe help you out. Lesson here is to measure 10 plus times/mark and than cut.

Holes that require cutting in the Seat skins are
-Head rest
-Seat belt holders
-Back of the seat lever to fold forward.
Drivers seat has the 2 power seat stations.

I had to reuse the wood dowel from the factory seats to attach the skin to the foam. See pic. The hog rings close around the foam dowel to the skin dowels. (Make sure to work outside in so they are centered.

I got the carpet all done and the console back in and the next steps is to attach the top and bottom of the seats together and put them in the car!

Hey guys. Just wanted to show the drivers seat in the car. I finally got it together and in the car. We have had such a hard winter and it is finally warmed up that I could drive it. I still don't have the passenger seat in, but I drove it to work today as a 1 seater. :)

Compared to the stock seat foam.....how does the new TMI foam feel comfort wise?

Well the tmi seems more squishy and padded. I am not sure if there is an break in to it but it's more comfortable to me. The old foam was hard. I would think foam hardens over time like a bed mattress does.

I haven't driven the car a whole lot lately due to weather, but when I did it I was loving the seat. ;)

Got to drive the car some the past two days (first days in April here in Seattle it hadn't rained), and I cant help but to feel like the back part of the seat wiggles more than it did prior to me doing the project. The bottom is pretty stout but I may tighten things a bit where the top meets the bottom.

I ran into this thread and I wanted to link it to this thread as it may be good info for whenever a seat is out of the car.

Kudos to the guys who made it.
