If you hear a click or see the voltage gauge deflect, with the engine running and pressing the power window button, it could be gears or motor. Switch is working. If neither of those happen, learn how to remove the door or switch panel. You did not list what car you have. The switch should unplug and will disassemble. The contacts will form a little black residue on them. Clean up the contacts, without bending them. Some cleaners and oil are not nice to plastics, so avoid them, unless you know they are OK. You can plug the repaired or new switch in, without the door panel and test it. Good luck,

going to probably be the motor or switch... you can bypass the switch by taking off the door panel, unplugging the motor, and hot wiring a positive and negative line to a cordless drill battery.. that will tell you what it is

I had this happen to me as well. Tried switching the passenger and driver's side switch but the issue remained. Was hoping it was just a switch, as it's an easy fix. Anyone repaired/attempted the motor or window regulator?

It is a little bit of a pain, but doable with basic mechanical abilities. The whole assembly is like $30 from Autozone.

I had it quoted at a local shop and they wanted nearly $500 to do it. I will keep the window permanently down at that price!

instead of the whole drill motor thing, just take the panel off (there are plenty of writeups and videos, its not hard), use a test light at the motor end of the harness to see if you're getting juice to the motor.

The motor isnt pleasant to change due to sticking your arms inside the door but its not awful. The window being stuck down might make it a little more interesting but unless the motor is totally stuck you should be able to push the window up. Once the window is up be aware that it could come back down (I've changed a few motors out, never had one move so far) and that could turn nasty. The motor is just one eletrical harness connector and 3 bolts of I recall, use a 1/4" drive.
