What schools is he claiming? Most all school houses will confirm or deny if a person graduated from Ranger, Q course, BUDS, EOD etc. if he actually graduated from a high speed school like Ranger he will remember his class number till the day he dies.

I'm a member on Mr. Shipley's website. I could ask if he could verify this guy's info. He isn't using these claims for personal gain, is he?

9 times out of 10 you can easily identify someone that has or has not served. Where did you go to boot, what was your rank, where have you been stationed etc etc. Mostly questions we ask each other out of just bullshitting. Usually they don't even take the time to research truths or information we deem to be 2nd nature. I've gotten upset over it and I've taken it as a compliment and simply felt pity for them. Guess it depends on my mood that day and how they came across.

I've said it before; most of my family are Marines. Crazy, instable people, but they get the job done.

I regret not joining at times, but I made the choice to go down a different path. I enjoy listening to my friends and my military family members tell stories and jokes. I would not lie and give some fake BS about serving though. That would be a dishonor to those that have put in the time, endured Parris Is, and trudged through every war America has been in through generations.

I will call someone out over lying about serving quick.

I don't believe he's using them for personal gain, so much as he's trying to get attention.

If he says anything is redacted he’s full of it. If he’s claiming to be tabbed IE SF then there guardians of the green beret that will verify his info. If he went to selection or ranger school he will 10,000% know his class number. If he is claiming to have gone to schools then that’s a little harder to prove if they are just menial schools teams hit. Awards and tabs can def be verified and will be on your DD214 no matter how Jason Bourne he thinks he was.

The one time I didn't call someone out for BS stories is when some old dude was claiming to be a Marine (I AM a Marine), He couldn't answer the most basic BS questions, but every time I asked something he would buy me a beer. So i got trashed listening to his BS stories and poking holes where I thought it was funny to see him squirm. lol

I always ask them to name one unit they where in, not just the division but the whole thing down to thier platoon. The BS’ers can never do it, they always just want to say. I was SF, or 82nd AB, I'll say I know but give me the whole thing. Like one of my units was 2nd Platoon, Charley company 2nd of the 72nd Armor, Second Infinity Division 8th Army in South Korea. What was one of yours, I either get a blank stare or a oh I can’t remember. One time a guy told me the only one he could remember was his basic training unit, that told me he never made it past BT.

Obviously I didn't pay any attention. This happens when you have had too many birthdays.
