Question is, should I get the Performance Pack or buy a Premium GT with some options?
Car would be my daily driver and as time goes on I would be changing the wheels, suspension, etc.
Some of my friends have told me that is not worth getting the PP over the Premium (since I don't want to pay to have them both) if I am going to be replacing the springs, wheels. At that point I would only be keeping the Brembos and a few other things from the PP.

Others have argued that the Brembos, Rev-Mathcing, bigger radiator, etc is worth it, even if I will be replacing, wheels/tires, springs in the future.

Any opinions are appreciated.

I wish, those options are rare and expensive.

Edit: You are correct, you get Rev Matching even without the PP.

Not all 2019s got rev matching?
Also I’d personally want a Magneride suspension and Recaros no matter what.

Yeah, wish I had Recaros in mine. After market they are $$$$$$$. I'll stick with the leather I have now.

I wouldn't get a Performance Pack if you plan on swapping all that stuff out. Brakes are an easy addition whenever you want, and the "base" brakes are really good themselves if you're not all-out tracking the car.

Yeah, been thinking that the Premium might be the better option for a DD.

I am getting worried about the issues with both the engine tick/tap/noise that people everywhere are talking about. A guy who was selling a barely used 18 texted me back today since I was inquiring about buying his car, and told me "Watch for engine noise if you buy one...not sure how good the new motor 5.0 is. I'm going after the 13-14 GT500". On top of that, I have read about people having issues with the new MT-82 (18-19) and their new shift forks which seem to be weaker.

Like WTF, is this as prevalent as it seems or it just looks worse because everyone goes on the internet and complains?

I know DI makes some noise, but it does not seem to be the one people are talking about. Some even say it might be piston slap or some other issue. Sounds serious.

Trying my best, but getting a bit frustrated with the dealers. Maybe is because I have never bought a new car before but jesus, coming up with a price should not be this hard. Seems like internet prices are mostly BS, real price out the door seems to be 3-4k higher. Feels bad.

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys.

Why don’t you wait 6 months and buy a used one with 5k on it for way less.

I have found a few with less than 10k miles and sadly, the price makes no sense. Within 2-3k of a new one in many cases, that's including dealer fee.
Not really sure what's going on around my area but not many private sellers, and the few that are selling are dangerously close to dealer price. :(

I still say it's a case of a loud vocal minority being on the internet, and these fb groups make it a small world. My 2018 has been flawless. I know Ford techs at dealerships in all my surrounding counties; my brother in law is actually the lead Ford tech at my nearest dealer... I can tell you that none of them have had a single 2018+ Mustang come through their door with an engine noise or trans problem. My brother in law just had to replace one 5.0 longblock in a 2018 F150 due to oil consumption; that's it. The shift fork issue was just simply a bad batch that Ford got from a supplier and hit cars during a certain production timeframe.

If it were me and I had to do it all over again, I would still choose the 2016 GT PP that I bought. Slightly used and got it for $27K with springs, exhaust, CAI and tune already installed. It was a steal. Then again, I strongly prefer the front fascia of the 2015-17 over the 2018+. It was/is still under the bumper to bumper warranty and the powertrain warranty runs through 2021.

I like the PP, but could see the value in the premium too. I don't need a lot of creature comfort, so I would value PP over Premium.

Noise issues are blown out of proportion.

I beat mine like it cheated on me and she hasn’t skipped a beat.

Best mustang I’ve ever owned ... absolutely love it.

Cool. I have seen cars like that for similar prices but was a bit worried of having a dealer denying warranty work because of things like springs/exhaust/CAI so I never payed too much attention to them.
