Posted this in the distillery section and didn't get any feed back but what's everyone making on their stock/ported blowers on E85? Got my car re-tuned earlier this week and it seems my tq numbers are some what low compared to others. Car does have a home ported blower, 2.76 upper, stock lower & stock manifolds.

I never had a stock blower/E85 car, but when I was researching before upgrading the blower on my last car, everything I read was making 500/500-530.

Even at that the blower would generate a great deal of heat so that was with a cooled setup on the dyno.

Personally I would be happy with making those numbers on a 1.6L blower.

I am very happy with the numbers, just trying to figure out if I have an underlying problem somewhere or if I'm just over thinking it.

Speaking from experience with a car that had low torque numbers on the dyno due to piston rings not sealing, your torque curve does not look like an engine with any issues allowing cylinder pressure to escape (bad rings, valves etc). That is a solid curve right off the very low end. If there was an issue I would expect the torque curve to build more gradually (maybe not like the hp line but similar) vs being as flat as it is.

If you want to confirm you don’t have a weak cylinder that could be lowering the overall numbers, a quick compression test should tell you that.

Otherwise it looks like you made solid power across the entire band. Will be interesting to see what it lays down when you go to the track.

Thanks for the info. Car runs great never have had any oil consumption or smoking issues and has fairly low miles (40k). Will do a compression check one day this week just to verify.

I'm running the car in the Ocala 1/2 mile this weekend to see what she does. I am excited to see what it does in the 1/4. Before the ported blower and e85 best it's been is 11.4x @ 119 so it would be awesome to break into the 10's.

I don't see anything to be concerned about. Those are good numbers. Post your 1/4 mile results here. I'm interested to see how much of an improvement you'll see.

2.76 upper only isn't spinning the blower that hard. I think most guys with 2.76 uppers ran 2-4lb lowers with it.

I use to run a 8lb lower pizza wheel with a stock upper on the stock eaton. Ported eaton it was 3.1/6lb.

Just spin it harder if you want more torque.

I can only say I hit 476/481 with a ported blower, 2.8/4lb lower on 93. That seemed low to me.

Mine made 512 rwhp and 468 rwtq with a 2.8 only and an Apten port (remember those?) at 1000ft elev. tuned by Tim Barth. It's plenty for me to handle on the street.

Quoting my wife after she road in it, "Why do you need a car with so much goddamn power"? Woof, woof, woof.
