Pins are all about function here. Recessed, and they utilize some very slick hardware. Those and things like the front hook are the exact kinds of things I wanna see in place. What is disappointing is there is still nothing along the lines of the Performance Data Recorder that GM uses in the Camaro/Corvette. The irony there is that the PDR was developed by a former Ford Racing engineer. GM has had it for a few years now and Ford has nothing in comparison. Nothing.

I like it...not in love with it. I feel the badging is over done, could have made the front end more appealing, without those fake venting in the corner of the lights.
Those side vents would have looked cool.
think the 350 looks better, but as far as performance goes, it should be the cats meow.
I'll probably do the ford performance blue.. possibly the orange.

I thought the same thing until I saw the car in Baltimore. Initially I thought the vents beside the front headlights were functional, but noticed they were sealed off. Could they still act in some way to improve the aero of the car?

I'm conflicted with this new GT500. Love the big power, the DCT sounds very impressive, but overall the car just looks a little ricey. Not a fan of the hood "pins" either. It's like Ford is trying too hard.
I hear you, but I think the base car works well for me. I’ll post the pics and story later, but I followed a camo GT500 mule into a local strip mall and had a great 20 minute conversation with a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer this morning. He said he’s a manual purist but the DCT allows things on track a manual just can’t do. He said the DCT won him over and its a really sharp piece, can rifle of shifts when driving hard or leave in normal Auto for boring traffic. As a plus he said they still have allowed fun on the street with the base stability and traction controls.
He said it’s a keeper grand tourer with great power and character. He said they weren’t worried about the Camaro only but benchmarked it against all the top GT cars.
I told him to stop up at Cars and Coffee this weekend. Hoping for a street race with my 2014 :)

I see that they moved to blank rotors, interesting that they changed it for the GT500 and not the GT350.

I've been eyeing the GT350 brake conversion but didn't like the drilled rotors for the track, if the blanks are going to be on the GT500 this makes the conversion a lot more appealing.

Can't wait to hear more about your impromptu conversation with the Engineer.

Most likely the base car will be my choice too. The carbon fiber wheels alone ($$$) would keep me from really enjoying the car. Excited for more information to follow from Ford.

Both the latest GT350 and the upcoming GT500 utilize blank rotors.

I didn't want to start a new thread just for photos, so I hope Tob doesn't mind me adding these to his thread.
