I don't play golf, but will watch it on TV. I just want to walk the course just to admire it. It is gorgeous and love picking out the birds by their singing.

I enjoy golf a lot more than I should but I love the Masters week. It's usually the weekend of my birthday (April 6th) and I have always wanted to play there/watch the Masters in person. As you said tho, Memberships are rare and getting tickets to it is just as bad

There are people here only to say they were in Augusta at the Masters. They buy the souvenirs, mingle with the crowds after each day, etc. It is crazy. I've met some strange people.

Probably coming out to work at SRS? We have many many people that come in from out of town, my boss for one. They can't afford hotels because they go from $100 a night to $500 a night that week.

It wasn't SRS- it was a manufacturing company right on the GA/SC border. Hotels were between $500-$600 a night in that particular town so we had to get them booked in Greenwood SC. Two guys opted to drive from home, which was 3 hours each way per day for about 3 solid weeks. Not so bad when you're getting paid OT+ and $0.60 a mile or whatever it was.

Ah ok. Ya we are on the GA/SC border and our hotels are insane right now.

I lived in Augusta for 10 years. Basically you go shopping for anything and everything prior to the Masters, because Washington Rd and the surrounding area becomes one huge traffic jam.

How far away from Augusta did you get? I can't seem to escape the place.

I'm currently in North Georgia, about 3 miles south of the TN line. But I'm wanting to move back closer to my family, which is down around the Athens area. With that said, I have a lot of relatives in Augusta. Most of them live near the downtown area. When I was there, I lived across from the Hooters on Washington Rd.

N. GA is a beautiful place. I love Athens. I've had a lot of fun there.

I doubt you can get into the parking lot for Hooters this week. You have several restaurants and the only real live music venue left in Augusta in that one space.

Its funny- I live in Greenwood and when I used to be in the bars all the time there would be swarms of tourist people out every night because they are here for the Masters..
