The Tao 5.0 is not available on the G70- yet. It sure would make one hell of an addition to the lineup!
I just read today that there is supposed to be a performance G-70 launched soon. That could be a V8 model.

nice choice, I am considering one of these for my next as well.
Not sure if its the same in the states but in Canada Genesis is a separate company from Hyundai and not sold in dealers, you call to arrange a test drive and they come to your house. Maintenance same deal they drop off a loaner and pick yours up.

For the most part, Genesis dealers are separate from Hyundai dealers. Hyundai purposes is separating the two to differentiate the brand. But, some dealerships, like mine, sell both under the same roof, sold by the same sales staff.

UPDATE: Just cancelled my pre-order with my original dealership. 6 days and they've done nothing. And no follow-ups from the salesman. And my last two calls/messages went unanswered. o_O Frustrated, I called a larger dealership in Danbury and drove there late this morning. I was introduced to a great salesman who listened intently to what I wanted and showed me what they had on the lot. I ended up switching to Himalayan Gray (similar to Dark Shadow Gray) and also decided I wanted the Sport package since overall it presented a much sportier appearance. Genesis of Danbury immediately got on the computer to locate my car (found two, one in NY and one in NJ). I will know by Monday if either one is available, and if not, they will order it from the factory on Monday. I can then tell them if I want one of the two they found or if I prefer to order it direct from the factory and wait about 45 days.

Here are some photos of the G70 3.3T Sport in Himalayan Gray.

The Sport package I decided to go with replaces regular chrome with dark chrome. It also includes Brembo brakes, dark tinted front headlight bezels, black 5-spoke wheels with 225/40ZR19 (front) & 255/35ZR19 (rear) Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires. I'll have to now buy a set of wheels/tires for winter use, but the summer tires will provide improved grip. ;)

So now the actual countdown begins.

Nice looking. Tire Rack has a distribution center outside Hartford. You can order a winter tire/wheel package for pickup and save $100 on shipping.

love that interior! reminds me a lot of VW/Audi interior...it's unbelievable how much Hyundai has stepped up their game...they build some quality vehicles now, I remember the first time I test drove a Genesis with 5.0 V8 and I was blown away how smooth the engine was, hard to believe its the same company that once produced this car:

Now THAT is great news. Yep, I just checked and sure enough, they have a distribution center in Windsor. About a 30 minute drive. I'll have to buy the winter tire/wheel package before I turn in my Edge Sport. Thanks for the tip.

I just checked Tire Rack and the website says don't have any wheels for the Genesis G70. I'll have to call them tomorrow and inquire further.

Thank you for your contributions to the forum CobraBob. It’s not too late to cancel your locate. I see several of these at auction, even G80’s and G90’s for significantly less. I would recommend looking at a pre-owned ones as opposed to new to see how they look after a brief ownership period. Nice vehicles but the Genesis paint and interior plastics do not seem to hold up well over time.

Thanks for the tips. I've done a lot of research on the new G70 and everything I'm reading says this car is a good one, all around. It's the first year for the G70 so finding one used is beyond difficult. I wouldn't want a G80 or G90. I'm actually picking up my G70 3.3T on Wednesday. I have to say I'm excited. The dealership is about 45 miles away and they're sending someone to my house to pick me up and take me to the dealership to close the deal. They do this for routine service, too, although I usually wait for my vehicle. And I'm not thrilled with strangers driving my vehicles. LOL.

Its not a Genesis but i drove this the other day and am blown away at how awesome it is. I left the dealer itching to plop a few thousand for a down payment. Hyundai is killing it with these new performance models. And this isnt even the performance package! Add another 25hp, larger brakes, better wheels/tires, active exhaust and active dampers with the performance package. The one thing i was yearning for is a larger back seat and a full four doors. I just cant justify a 3 door versus my 4 door Fiesta. Everything else about the Veloster N was better than the Fiesta except for the damn doors.

Glad you decided to get the better brake setup

Boy., that thing looks good. It will turn heads for sure. Biggest issue I see is the extra time it will take at the gas pump explaining what it is.

Stay tuned! My dealership sent two guys down to NJ to pick it up yesterday, and that dealership refused their check and refused to release the car. WTF?!?! I found this out literally 90 minutes before they were supposed to pick me up at the house. I even had my new insurance card with the VIN of that car. Now they're back to finding one. And finding one at a dealership that will work with them. Can't make this crap up. I had to call USAA last night to cancel the coverage. o_O

Edit: My salesman just called and told me he had bad news. No gray metallic G70 3.3T Sports in a 400 mile radius. The good news is that his sales manager recommended they put an order into the factory today for my car in the exact configuration I want/wanted. That's what I originally wanted but they like to pull from existing inventory if possible. It takes between 30-45 days for it to show up. I gave him the go-ahead so the wait begins. It's probably for the better in the long run. I'll get a brand new, never driven G70 without any dealer add-ons like a first-aid kit, trunk tray, rear mud flaps :)eek:), trunk vinyl protective strip on bumper, etc.
